The springs will make the car sit lower and be a little firmer. Lowering the car will help it feel more planted and lowering the centre of gravity will help the cornering ability. But the shocks alone will also help in this respect, so you will still see a good improvement. The FSD's were designed to be used with standard springs.

I am just about to sort this out for my LC as well.... seems like the ideal set-up for me as I can;t afford to have my car excessively lowered due to the angle of my driveway. If anyone has tried this already comments will be good to hear?
The spring will only give you a lowering of about 15mm from experience - the valving on the FSD's does not allow the car to drop to the full 30mm that the springs offer.
i was told the valving has nothing to do with it Pabs, i was told it lowers bog standard leons 30mm leon cupras say 15mm and cupra r's 10mm do to the already sporty suspenson in them thats the reason why the spring doesnt appear to lower the car that much

So in a nut shell the FSDs will improve the handling and ride a lot even with standard springs.
The only reason is I'm not sure if I can stomach £575 on suspension parts and fitting etc.

i am not sick of saying this
they are brilliant.my vrs has them on with stock springs and they are great,better all round than stock dampers,and they really do change when you lean on them.
in the ideal world i would have had eibach springs also,but as above my drive says otherwise.
i'm not entirely sure but i swear my vrs sits ever so slightly lower since they were fitted,especially at the back

I have FSD's on my cupra with standard springs, they made a nice difference alright but I had bigger ARB's fitted at the same time so its hard to tell which made the bigger improvement.
That said, the FSD's are smoother than the standard dampers, less crashy.
My car did sit a little higher at the back when fitted but I think it had setteled since.

i think thats what maybe happened to the vrs,when first fitted they sat up a little ,now settled its "seems" lower.

Yes, I was a bit pi**ed off when I had them fitted first, thought the car looked like a subaru forester but dropped a bit now.
Might be a tiny bit higher than standard but I don't mind, car handles like it should do now.

mmm just been told I'm getting £450 for an AD install I did a while back for a mate of mine's business, He's got another company that also want AD installed with GPO etc. So mmm thats either most of my 60k service paid for some new shocks...
