you'll need Vagcom software and a laptop to log your inlet temps.

My temps dropped from 90deg+ to less than 40deg!

Well worth the money, car felt like it could pull for a tad longer without getting out of breath...

You will notice it so much more in the summer due to heat soak.

i managed a 14.8 with the standard smic on...!

the car seems to pull the same throught 3rd 4th and into 5th wheras before it used to get a bit wheezy high up in the rev range when accelerating.

Mine actually went into limp mode when the intake temps hit 93 degress!

As a general rule, a FMIC doesn't add any BHP, simply lowers the inlet temperatures - on a quarter mile run you may see some increase as the turbo can breathe better, but it will be nominal.

it got RR'd at 162bhp atw and 302lb/ft, about 185+bhp at the fly...

I had the Forge fitted but when I added the Cupra bumpers to the car I changed the FMIC for the SS unit.

Not sure there was a real difference but the temps were a couple of degs lower(even though it was not the same weather when I tested the forge unit)

The turbo spooled up a few hundred rev quicker but it would hold the boost more higher up the range.

It's a must for mapped cars and the summer weather IMO ;)

I did a few logs on my Ibiza with a C-C remap and standard SMIC temps went to 70 degrees and a friend of mine had Cupra bumpers on his 130PD sport with SMIC temps went to 90!!!

Fitted the Forge FMIC on both cars (very good product I might add) and temps never went over 40!

Recommend to all - get a Custom-Code P2 map too and the car will pull all the way to 5K - mine sure does :D

The PD160 intake is about a twice as wide as 130 - it’s the pipe between the air box and front panel.

I'm looking to get a remap in the next month or so, are inlet temps of say 70 potentially damaging or just not condusive to performance?
If i do fit a FMIC will i need cupra bumpers and how much will it cost including fitting (PM me if you like!)

Intake temps of 70 will be fine, if it was to go higher the ECU has safety parameters and will reduce boost to lower temps

You do not need a Cupra bumper to have the FMIC :)

Forge FMIC comes to £715.00 delivered or £908.87 fitted
