On the original dab you should have recieved a dab areial already fiked on the car. when the cars come of the transporter they have two aerials one in a bag with the centre caps and the handbook pack and the dab aerial lose in the boot if the wrong one was fitted at pdi that would explain a few things and yes they do look different if it looks like a standard ariel about 12 inches long and a continuos spiral down to the base then that is a standard fm one. basically compare it to any other seat if it is the same it is wrong

AS ABOVE:doh:

Ive had a look behind the radio. Theres a wire THAT ISNT EVEN CONNECTED!!! Its on the top right just above the power plug. It's gold plated and quite thin. But its not connected to anything?! So what is this suposed to be for? :ban: :banned: [:@]

Closer view of the wire that isnt connected...
DSC00102Small.jpg

This is what I got in that little pack with the manual. Just prongs to take out radio and a spare connection. and a bit of plastic!

And heres what it leads to. Just searches....and searches... and then NO DAB!

Has anyone else had a look behind their radio? Is your ariel like mine (on the left) and can recieve DAB??

Sorry to kinda hi-jack the thread and be a moany sod!

So is it the one with the squigles around it or the plane one that is the dab, ie the one on the right of the pic or the left of the pic

2gb SC cards will not work

Hi All

We seem to have gone a little off topic from the original post. I can't get a 2gb SD card to work either.

According to the manual the largest supported card is 512Mb, being me I pooh-pooh'd that particular comment and ordered up a 2gb card anyway, well guess what...?

Tried a 256Mb card I had kicking around, formatted it in the same way, used the same mp3 tracks and it worked perfectly.

FYI Play are doing 512Mb Sandisk for £7.99 delivered.

I am using a 2 gb card and it works no problem.
I hadn't used the correct format originally.
I have about 30 albums on it.
I ordered two more 2 gb cards today from 7 day shop.
http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=777

£9.50 for a 2gb card.:D
£5 for a 1gb card.
£4 for a 512 card.

As for the manual saying a 512 is the biggest you can use I phoned Blaupunk before I got the car and asked them what was the biggest card you could use and was told 2gb.

Hey Norrie, mind me asking what you were doing wrong orininally? Blowed if I can get it to read the 2gb card, yest dropping the same files on a 512Mb card reads perfectly.

I've tried formatting the 2Gb card in the head unit, made no difference, what's the secret?

Not really sure.
I was using I-tunes and hadn't converted it to a mp3.
You could have a compatibilty problem with the card.
The thing is when I first put the card in it sometimes wont read it but I just try again and it works.

I think the comment in the radio handbook about the 512mb card being the maximum for the radio just refers to the optimum sized SD card for recording DAB radio not for just playing tracks.

With a 2GB card make sure it is formatted in the stereo first of all and that the tracks you are transfering are in MP3 format.
