Engine mounts

could anyone post a pic of the ibiza 1.8T engine bay with the locations of the engine mounts highlighted

or at the very least some accurate description

also is there obvious flex or wear to duff mounts? so you know if they need replacing. and is it a mission or quick job to do?

and finally has anyone bought standard engine mounts? are they cheap or is it more cost effective to buy say the vibratechnics set

My front one snapped in half few months back. Thats located behind the radiator. Front end off job.
I think theres one to the back of the gearbox aswell?

Just a loud knocking when acelerating/decel.

there are 2 engine mounts one at front and one at back near turbo!! also one gear box mount

i wouldnt say front end off

got a new one on mine, just to reduce movment!

iv e heard bad things about the stiff mounts...brakes the gearbox mount

iv got a weird knocking/clicking sound and vibration through the pedals when pulling away and slowing down at low speeds.

and it seems to me like its increased over time so just exploring the options

h17och did you replace it with a standard one? and if so how much was it

ive change all my mounts! supplyed from mr badger! done all of them on my drive! the front mount isnt the front end off at all you just need to unbolt the mount and jack the front of the engine up! the rear mount is to the left hand side of the engine but u have to remove a bracket and heat sheilding stuff to see it. its not a hard job at all you just need a few trolly jacks and think about what your doin jacking the engine up to take the weight off the mounts! just do 1 at a time!

I would say its rubbish yes. knackered mounts are more likely to destroy components.

Mine run VT race mounts all round. no breakie anything with the power I run and the duty I put upon it. passes the badger durability test
