As promised heres a thread re my new brakes.
got a fantastic deal from ebay (still cant believe it!) ...
£235 for ORIGINAL brebmo drilled discs (which cost £255 (then p&p on top!) from the TT shop alone, which is where i was going to buy them from!) and RED DOT fast road pads!
and i bought some Castrol Response Super Dot 4 (290*c dry boiling point) from ebay which is being fitted by SEAT 2mo for my 2 year brake fluid Change (great timing!!! )
fitting was a doddle, expect for one thing... the pads are correct, as in size, but two of them had brake sensors (only one should!) and also the plugs on the end were wrong! so i cut the sensors off and in order to stop the brake warning light and beep coming on the dash i modified the plug from the last set of galfer pads i had just taken out.
all i had to do to trick the ECU/sensor was connect the two wires that go to the plug together to make it think there is a circuit and that the pads are thus not low. works absolutely fine, so all good. ok i wont get a light come on my dash when the pads are low, but i never did on the first set... its pointless having a brake sensor unless every pad has one imo, anyway doesn't matter! lol
i fitted them on friday and have done about 40 miles since... taking it very easy at the mo to bed them in... but i can deffo feel they are going to be very strong! (im used to 1045 galfer pads on oe discs, the 1045s are not as good as the OEM pads, so my new set up with the castrol fluid (being fitted 2mo!) should be a good improvement! )
oh and i cant believe just how heavy the discs are!
and the pics....
