Rusty Brake Discs

I have searched but all of the threads I have found relate to rust on the disc where the pads work - which is not the problem that I have.

I have recently replaced my LCR's original (1st from new) pair of Brembo discs for a new pair of Brembo discs but they are now rusty in the centre bit, near where they are attached, not the discs bit (if that makes sense) and it is clearly visible through the wheels which ruins the effect of have nice wheels and brakes and is irritating.

Is there any way to remove this rust and keep it at bay? My original discs never suffered from rust...

I painted some Kurust on mine there, turns the rusting a nice dark colour which doesn't really show. You could always paint over with a silver/gray hammerite or similar to blend in with your wheels.

Yeh, i was gonna suggest sanding the rust down, putting some kind of solution on that keeps rust away ( cant remember the name of it ) and then paint over with silver hammerite?

Is a bit shitty that they have rusted in the first place, how long have you had them on?

Have you contacted company you got them off about it?

They have been on just over 2 weeks, they haven't been getting very hot due to bedding the new brakes in and the weather has been pretty poor, which hasn't helped. They are not REALLY rusty, just a little bit orange - I guess that is not the point though!

Rust

My brand new LCR was delivered with rust in the centre section, it annoyed me at first but it has nt got any worse so I m not really arsed with it. I thought as it was one of the last of the LCR s it had sat in a field somewhere awaiting delivery collecting both orange dust and rust!

they will all rust on the non grey painted bits.... iron rusts, salty roads...oxidisation is inevitable.

EBC ones are plated to stave off corrosion

they do say to bed them in....
I've plated 305mm disks and there was no difference from the plating to braking effeciency, but that was brembo disk and ferrodo pads.

the plated ebc discs warped on me (both) I dont think im overly hard on the brakes either. never happened with any other discs, this was on the cordoba 16v too, not even the leon.
