Hi, I'm planning to buy SEAT Cordoba 1994, 1995. There is a few things i'd like to know, and also, I want to hear some users comments on it.

So, how reliable is it?
How large/small would be fuel consumption for Cordy 1.4 ? (preferable would be to get this info in litres per 100 kilometers, if no, I can convert it ;)
Are cordoba parts interchangable with those of volkswagen (polo, golf mk3)?
How mutch should I pay for it? (I can get one for 900 euros)
Are there any cordoba common problems?
what should i pay attention on, when buying one?

Also, any other info and or comments on SEAT Cordoba would be appreciated. :)

Hi - reliable enough for the money

The ABD 1.4 8v unit isn't the most economical, but was capable of 36mpg (sorry, don't know l/km)

The 1.4 ABD is a Mk3 Golf engine, so all the parts are interchangeable for that. Chassis wise, it's a Polo Saloon (not a normal polo) - but service parts are all interchangeale

Common problems....

Rust in the rear arches
Rust at the sill join
Rear wheel bearings
Brake wear
Front wishbone bushes

I see... thanks for info.
So the pricing is fair-enough, and common problems aren't major. Seems like a good deal :)
btw, which would be the most economical unit for 94-95 cordoba's?

p.s.
It'd be nice if someone would post some user's comments on it too, like: "Cordoba is a really good car, dude, I'm having one for a year now, and I haven't got any problems yet!!!" :D

Erm....

I had a 1.4 ABD Ibiza for 3 yrs, was OK

Then a 2.0 16v Cordoba (more economical than the 1.4)
Now a 1.6 8v Cordoba (kind of in the middle for economy

I'd have the 1.6 myself, owned a couple of 1.4's and although they never let me down, the fuel economy is crap for a 1.4. The most i ever got was 41-42mpg driving like a saint. You get similar fuel economy with the 1.6 but more go.

Had my Cordoba for 6 months now and it hasnt put a foot wrong, its needed usable items such as brakes but thats about it. Probably the best car i have owned so far.

I am buying a 1999(T) SEAT CORDOBA Manual Diesel Vario (Estate), 1.9TDI tomorrow and have been doing some research that may help you. Look at the links below and you should be able to pick up info on the exact model you are looking for.

vario's are massive - by far the most useable car I've had (and I can just lie diagonally in the boot with the seats down)

forgot to ask, that 40-42 mpg fuel consumption is when driving in city or on a highway?
