Just a quick opinion gathering exercise really, I've got a '99T 1.9 TDi SE with 90K miles on it. Its got 6 months tax, recent tyres, 13 months MOT and is in burgundy. I've run it for 17K miles so far and apart from oil change and suspension bush replacement its worked faultlessly.

I bought it because I work 56 miles from home so I clock up 2K miles per month. However, due to am impending job change this will drop to 600 miles per month so no diesel required.

I need a family sized car, similar or bigger.

Thanks for the responses

If you are not too fussed about staying with VAG the Mazda 6 is worth a look. Doesn't look too bad in Sport guise.

I'd jsut keep it and run it into the ground :p good for at least double that mileage :p

Down to personal preference mate as in all honesty is it worth changing the car even if you don't need a diesel cos your not doing the mileage. How much will it cost you to change?

Thanks for the replies everybody, it will be going in the near future. For the trip I will be making to work it just won't entertain me at all.

I had a V5 before and that was OK but a bit detached to be honest, lovely engine.

Quite fancy a few different things; A4 1.8T/2.4, BMW 323i/328i, Golf GTi VR6/16v/1.8T might even go french/italian and look at the 306 XSi/GTi6 or Alfa 156 2.0TS.

Thanks again.

EDIT: Of the above I've had an A4 1.8T, BMW 320x2/325x1, 5 Golf GTi 8v, 306 XSi and GTi6

I thought we were on there, but if its not running right... :p

Quite suprised by the poll, only 1 out of 7 say get somnething else... I am waiting on a V5 coming into a local garage, its black with cream interior and 44K on the clock. Sounds nice, but, I've got one of those so fancied something else. BM is looking favourite, as is Vx Vectra 2.2/2.6 SRi.
