Ive had my Ibiza FR (face lift) for bout 9 months now and done about 8000 miles and i thought id share what i think about it.

Got it brand new last year and got a great deal on it after selling my beloved Clio 172 Cup - which was begining to fall to bits lol. I was quite happy with my new car although not livinging up to the high standards of the clio though - which was expected. I did consider the Cupra to match the Clio but the 1000 price drop on the FR model and the 'Real world' performace being similar i opted to by the FR.

A few months went by and i was a little disapointed to tell you the truth, the motor seemed tight and no grip at all when cornering but with the thought that one day i would give it the REVO treatment and other mods i just put up with it.

However just recently since hitting about 8k miles it seems to have gone under a slight transformation. Its gone a lot quicker!. Its weird actually. Could this be at last the motor losening up? I seem to get a lot more engine nosie and pulls a lot harder. I am really enjoying the FR now and would find it hard to part with it (a sign that i like it woo hoo) and as soon as i get some money together its revo time( been saying this for ages tho). I would like to welcome myself to the Ibiza world!

the 20vt takes a few miles to fully bed in standard tyres also don help with handling as they arnt the best around, mine feels better with good tyres and no understeer no even when wheels are spinning going around a corner it still grips well, im now like you wouldnt get rid of it as i love driving it

It should loosen up more after each 1000 miles or so, mine does! Although it's diesel...

Standard the ibiza FR doesn't handle brilliantly but with a few mild 'tweaks' it can surprise alot of better handling cars, especially on the twisty bits!

Remap will see you flying past Clio 172's and the like!

Change the tyres once there worn to some decent ones. Not sure what the Fr comes with, the Cupra comes with P-zeros which are poo.

Do you think thats why your last car ended up how it did? needed to learn to drive first?before you up the power?

I must say, over the past week mine has felt allot quicker. Reving easier, the grip levels are good, handling is ok. Mine is 7 months old 6000 miles on the clock. :cartman: wouldn't want to part with it, devestation would strike if anything happened to my car now!

Klang j u said just recently ur car seems to be pulling alot better well people may have overlooked the obvious which is the weather... espeacially the last week getting colder so ur engine is gonna be performing better. induction temps r gonna be lower to ;)
