Hi all,

got my 1st service at 10,000 miles and 10 months next month.

Who has had a services and how much do you pay?

What is involved in the 10k miles service?

Also, is it really worth taking it to a seat dealer, or is somewhere else better (cheaper)

Take it elsewhere, block exemption is in your favour & you will save loads.

Just use SEAT approved oils, and SEAT part (or even non genuine parts that are the same std) and get someone else to do the work (VAT reg'd business)

EU ruled that this is acceptable & your warrantee is intact.

Put mine in at the dealers for 10k yesterday - it is still there ! Apparently it is leaking oil from part of the sump and a part has been ordered from the factory.
Bad news is it won't be fixed until next Wed or Thurs.
Still, I got a new 1.6 Ref Sport loan car in the meantime - but it is no TFSi !

All repairs bar service are warranty jobs so still don't know the service price, will post price once the car is returned.

I was quoted about £170 for first service, £230 for second and £280 every fourth service from a couple of Seat dealers.

Might be worth trying someone else in the VAG group, might be cheaper?

TFSI service

I had my 10,000 service at Seat Letchworth for £68.74. I'm sure it's only an oil change.

Hi. Prob not realated, but few prices on a 20k sevice from a Skoda garage near me in N.Ireland:

1. Variable servicing (long life oil) - £165 including parts labour and VAT.
2. Fixed extended servicing - £145 including parts labour and VAT.

The fixed extended service requires an oil change 10,000 miles or 12 months after the main 20,000 mile service. If variable servicing is selected the car will advise of the next service due.

Paid £120 approx at Robinson's SEAT, they have a joint SEAT/AUDI/VW service department, no problems at all to report. Now done 15k so will need another before long :(.

It was from a skoda garage, mentioned the servicing the same as the octavia and gave me the quotes? Do all VAG not run variable servicing then?

Not as far as I have been told, Seat don't do it. But you would think if all the major components are the same it could be done - just not sure about the Trip/Service computer as this displays the next service due?

It calculates it based on the oil quality I was told by an Audi dealer

Just got my TFSi back from its service only took 8 days due to the oil filter assembly being on back order at the factory.

Anyhow the service, labour, parts and vat all came to £235.

(not including replacing oil filter assembly as that was a warranty job).

so this is monitored by the car?? Didint know that!! Suppose even if it was a Skoda Dealer they would have the means to check up any checks needed on the Seat not needed on the Skoda etc.
