Laser Park Pro fitment on LCR

Has anyone fitted the Laser Park Pro parking aid.... eherm... laser diffuser to their Leon Cupra R. I wondered if anyone's sucessfully mounted in the slit cut away part directly above the number plate. Just going to take the bumper off now to have a look if it can be mounted securely there.

Im definitely going ahead, I have the LPP here now, just need to securely mount it. Think I got lasered yesterday... there was a van on the motorway bridge and I wad soing about 60 in a 50 zone. Might get away with it but I gotta fit this thing for peace of mind, ya know

If it's the same product I'm thinking of, it's a reversing sensor that doubles up as a laser jammer for handheld speed detectors.

You don`t need to take the bumper off, to fit the sender - just remove the centre grille and use the bracket you can see inside, behind the `slit in the bumper, to mount the sender

Now being a laser operated system, I had a thought.What would happen to a laser gun if it was pointed at the front of my car... exactly what I expected, the laser gun could not take a distance reading. So the next test was to have a drive round and leave my other tester down the road with the laser gun to see what happened.

Well we set off down to the road we use for all our laser tests and had a pop at the Laser PRO-PARK in the same manor we would on a traditional device and guess what, this parking sensor has a sting in the tail, diddly squat, no speed reading in any shape or form. Another interesting fact is that we never got a jam code either on the guns we used. (UK approved guns)

I know someone who has a Target L100 diffuser fitted to a Leon Cupra. Been on the car for 3 years and no problems - lens thingy mounted centrally in a cut-out just under the Seat badge, nice and discreet. Mostly does what it says on the tin......but last time it was activated he still got a NIP. I think he may have been been zapped coming around a corner so was caught before the blocking signal was activated. He told me he keeps it switched off most of the time and only uses it when he's in a hurry I'm fairly certain I read on another forum that the build quality of the Laser Pro Park is pretty poor....but that's only one opinion - I don't know anyone who has one fitted.

The comment on the quality of the Laser Pro Park has been said to be great, on one or two reviews I've read. I guess it depends who ya speak to.

This thread has made me want one all the more :S

And it's the 30-40 MPH cameras that are gonna catch me out. Not the 70 MPHs. Generally speaking, at higher speeds I'm paying attention alot more than I am driving down the 30 zones home from work.

No points in 4, almost 5 yrs ive had my license. I'd like to keep it that way

Just to dispell any myths on build quality, I cannot fault the equipment at all, and I am a bit of a perfectionist. I did take the centre grill out and made an aluminium bracket behind it, self tapped the included bracket to this and the unit slides (quite tightly) into the cut out directly above the number plate. I installed the mute button, status LED and power switch just to the right of the headlamp adjustment dial and dash light dimmer, then wired the auto mute wire to my stereo. Looks pukka. Funny thing is, I normally like to test new gadgets out as soon as I get them but this one is kinda weird cos I may 'never' see another laser speed trap again so it may never get any use. Great piece of mind though now that i've fitted it and it is totally legal.... It is a parking sensor after all it just uses the 'license free' laser frequency 904nm and diffuses all laser guns currently in use in the uk. A good thing also is the unit is fully updatable for when new laser gun devices come on the market. The unit cost me £285 delivered and extra laser sensors are another £200 if you want one for front and rear protection.

if you only stick to seventy all the time then why have you bothered spending money re-mapping your car, surely its quick enough as standard. i never understand folk making negative comments when people make statements about stuff on this site, if people are talking about anything that i'm not personally interested in i just find another thread to go to.
