Mpg

My 05 1.4 75bhp with 20k on the clock shows 36 mpg average on the trip which I haven't re-set for a long time.No long trips just general going to work and back,a round trip of 30 miles and the missus shopping.

I have driven via the A6 between Preston and Lancaster over the last few days instead of the usual motorway run to work (25 mile). Although I haven't done all the calculations and technical stuff, I had a look at my trip computer average MPG and it has shot up since using the A6 instead. Takes longer but seems to save fuel if the trip computer is accurate enough.

My driving involves busy London roads (so lots of stop/start and traffic journeys) and dual carriageways daily. I get around 265-270 miles from my 1.4 75ps

Yes sitting in the traffic must really drink fuel. I'm hoping that using v-power will improve matters a little. A longer term test is needed!! I'll keep you posted!

Yes using v-power does help, i've noticed slight improvement in the way it runs too and does improve MPG.

If it still consumes alot i'd say try changing your lambda probe. After filling my car with v-power for the first time, my lambda blew my chance - which consumed fuel quite a bit. However, before this happened fuel economy was certainly not as good as it is now after replacing it.

I travelled down to Dorset this weekend just gone, got back on Sunday, and just filled up on the way to work this morning after travelling 366 miles and put 41.4 litres in. I make that 40mpg which is pretty good and probably due to not getting held up in traffic. I had an excellent run round the M25 on Friday - wish it was always like that!:D

I wasn't driving like a granny and was giving it some at some points in the journey so I'm fairly happy with the Mpg!! If I'd stuck to cruising at 70 or less I'm sure it'd be even higher!! And I only put cheapy sainsbury's fuel in so can't be too bad. It's got v-power now as a treat!

Sorry to bump this old thread but i'd like more feedback on mpg in the 1.4 75ps so for anyone who has had one not long let me know what you get and what sort of journey its doing to get the mpg.
