Have searched and cant find much but need to know if anyone has replaced the front section of the exhaust (inc CAT) with an aftermarket zorst. now either performance or pattern part. been quoted 471 +vat for this beauty, for OEM and given that is approx 1 quarter of what the car is worth, i think someone is having a LARF!

I cannot find any other replacements, all avenues seem to cater for the 1.8 20vt and forget about us poor 20v peeps!

help appreciated! PS battery now sorted....;)

Sorry can't really help you out Sam, but I must admit I was looking at going for a performance exhaust at one point but when you take into account the value of the car such things are becoming really hard to justify.

Its such a pain GrayT, there is a new model out, in both leon and tolly, and the parts are still 'kin expensive!

I found a few places that sell CATs (for my engine, and cars with and without OBD). how sucessful do you reckon it would be to chop the pipe, remove the CAT and put new CAT in and weld it up? not really a bodge as you have to cut the pipe to put a replacement rear on as it is one piece.

the failure of the CAT is mechanical breakdwon inside....it rattles so much!

That's not so expensive considering the standard cat for the 1.8 20v as i found out when mine did this is nearly £600 from Seat! Central tyres do a "sport" cat for our car thats about £350 and the standard is around £270 i think. I bought mine from auto factors for £118 and then got central to fit it for like £70.

MMMmmm, thats good to know. 118 is a similar price that i have found on net without OBD. think this is the avenue to take.
thanks for your help mate.
