ooooooohhh my god i knew this was going to be a bit of a pain to fit but to have it up on the ramp at work a good 4 times is a joke! tolk me about 40mins to get old cupra exhaust down and the new sports downpipe and cat & cat back system up BUT!

if you are considering getting a milltek on a lowered cupra mk4 think again as air sawing, welding and alot of moving about to stop rattles on brake pipe bracket and still staying as a mot pass! also getting the thing to stop rattling and blowing is fine but then it sits funny then when you get it sitting good it blows or rattles!

just wondered what any1 else has done with same system on their cupra as ive found a good way to do it! and im now happy as larry with it

few rattles on mine at first but took two of use to push the cat back bit into the cat pipe very hard work did you get it all the way in also ive used cable ties on the rear mounts to line it up right thats about it but with yours being silly low it prob will foul as mine was close on standard suspention

it is quite complicated but it is possible with no extention pipes parts ect!!!!!
if the car is lowered at the rear then it is a real problem as axle when on the floor takes the weight of the car and narrows the gap down the more you lower it!!!!
terrible picture and not very clear but am in a rush :)

then you remove the brake pipe bracket whille keeping the the bit of the braket that actually holds the brake pipe in place and re_weld it to the axle further over and lower down the axle like in picture belowVVV while still missing the rear axle bush to avoid abration to pipes! this will pass an mot still!

if you are putting the exhaust up in the air (ramp/hydraulic jack) then you will need to put the car back on the floor after fitting to check it clears the axle and the heatsheilds! and is long enough and sitting straight out the back still! dont clamp the joints at the edge of the overlapping pipe as it will still blow even with exhaust paste! clamp it half on half off thge slits of the overlapping pipe and no blowing will occur hope this helps but it was thrown together really quickly

just started blowing again think the exhaust paste im using is way too thin so have just bought a tin of GUN GUM :) like a thick paste that can be rolled into any shape as soon as it touches something warm it goes solid and doesnt alow the exhaust fumes escaping to blow a hole like on the thin shite!!!!

Best way i found was to NOT to tighten any parts of the exhaust up until i had it lined up, also jubilee (spelling) clip around the rubber mount can help to give you a little more clearance and direction.

for the blowing rash try the original type exhaust clamps the u type sealed one of my leaks asfter fitting the cat and down pipe can get better pressure around the whole pipe

jubile clip where??? to hold it up higher?? have you had yours lowered at all at the rear?

At the back you have the bracket with the rubber that holds the exhaust up, if my memory serves me correct i think it is the second to the last mounting point for the exhaust. If you put a jubile clip around that and tighten it you can give your self an inch of manipulation on where the exhaust will hang to stop it from catching on the axle or the springs. I know its tight and a proper little bast$rd to get right but if you dont tighten up your middle section it will give you some more leeway.

ive got myn to sit lovely out the back and clear everything with an inch just need some better exhaust paste and will try the old exhaust clamps like gaz has said to see if that works think i had to modify my axle brackets because my car is lowered alot and axle gets tighter the lower you go so was even more of a pain in the arse! will try the exhaust paste see if that makes things better :D

its been much more hassle sorting this exhaust thats not ment to fit the cupra but the FR than fitting coilovers  but i put my money on this paste stuff working :) what are you pushing out (bhp?lbft) bigar with the CC phase 2 as i have the pretty much the same mods as you and am looking into phase 2 remap instead of the turbo upgrade as will get better £-4-bhp

if you swapping from your current map (225bhp) you wont see much more as turbo limit is 250bhp roughly and its hard getting it to that! ive got revo stage two basically maxed out and getting 236bhp

Not had it RR since phase 2 map but it is defiantly better than phase 1 more responsive on the peddle and better delivery up the rev range, just Lookin forward to IHI in march.

well its aparantly a 45bhp increase with the map i got put on it but im not convinsed! would like to have it mapped on a rolling road propper to the mods and the cars best ability! was 99% sure on tuyrbo but if i did do that its gonna cost about 4000 and will only be gaining about 50-70bhp thats not alot for that money! but for £600 could get 240 or something like that

I would think you would be looking at 235bhp max IMO

Thats why im going IHI more BHP for the £ , better power delivery as in quick spooling good for acceleration If i get 320BHP and around 300BHP at the wheels i will be happy.

IHI? would be fitting high flow manifold and some other extra bits if i went fot the phase 2 would be looking at more than 235bhp surely!
