you can do it via vagcom, but if you havnt got it

unplug your battery, leave for 20-30mins, plug back in, turn ignition on (not engine) and wait for noise to stop (the noise is your tb realigning iv been told)

iv heard a few rumours that this doesnt actually do a tba, how true this is i dont know, they might "just" be rumours

From Ross Tech for DBW 1.8T

Turn the key on but do not start the car.

[Select]
[01 - Engine]
[Measuring Blocks - 08]
Group 060
[Go!]
[Switch to basic settings]
Once you do this you will see the top right display say ADP RUN. The TB adaptation is being done as soon as you switch to basic settings. You will see the values change and hear the TB cycle for the first few seconds then it will stop. Leave it in Basic Settings for about 30 seconds.
[Switch to Meas. Blocks] button and you're all set.

Be sure not to touch the accelerator and make sure the engine is NOT running when you do this!

Make sure the car is stonen cold

Open bonnet.

Turn ignition on so dash lights are on.

Leave for a minute ot two, you can hear the TB screaming. lol. Will click when its done.

Close bonnet.

Take keys out.

Start.

without doing anything to the battery??

I also read something about having the doors open to do the tba...

If you dont TBA after disconnecting battery, what can it cause ?
