i am no longer confused!!
after reading gazjones's timeline thread, i realised after looking at one of his pictures that i had attached the hose to the wrong bit at one end, meaning hat the unit was sucing in air from the engine bay and not from the hose. i switched the hose round, and after a day or 2, the light is now off!!
just hope the light stays off now! so much for the mechanic's at seat noticing it!!
