well all in all worst few days ever. I cant get this bloody fog light kit installed so its going to the garage and the lcr splitter is the wrong one. So before I go order a new one I was just wanting some info, will it fit easly onto a pre face lift ibiza, and does it just fit over the lower bumper even though the engine is sealed off by that plastic stuff.

I think you know this has been covered! yes it does, think you have to trim a little off each side?

fitted on my pre facelift

trim 2 center posts to half size and trim the ends off where it meets the tyres.
best trimming down a bit so it will fit in near the tyre and then when your screws are in and your happy that everything is spot on trim the ends off.

took me around 2 hours by my self, was wet so masking tape didnt work to hold it on so i got some blocks of wood and stacked them up, just the right hight :)

made a mistake with mine, was a few mm to one side so it stuck out more, so had to take off and move and make more holes but you cant see them anyway cause there under the car.

theres a little lip that sticks down under the car where the bumper ends and the other shield starts, i pushed the two center posts upto that. looks cool on my red ibiza.

still not had time to do pics but will after my 1st day back at work tomorrow hopefully :( i hate my job

things i used:

splitter doh
bag of screws from B&Q costing £1.30 about 20 in a packet
screwdrivers(i used short ones so i didnt need to jack the car up)
tape measure
felt pens
masking tape
bits of wood to help hold the splitter up near the car
junior hacksaw
sharp knife
drill if you want, i didnt bother but probley of made it a bit easyer

Sorry to bother lads can u tell me if this is right part as it just doesnt line up right with the bottom of the lights, ie the middle is shorter, is this normal and u jsut cant tell once its on, or have I got the wrong part (part number is right) and if so do I jsut cut it down to fit and attatch it underneith with self tapping screws to the lower bumper, not removing the plastic attaching the bumper to the engine compartment. Thanks lads just wanted 2 clear a few things up :D

That the correct item, the reason it doesn't fit is because it not made to fit an ibiza its for a LCR. This means that you have have to bend/cut/fiddle with it to make it fit. Best idea is to find the centre of your bumper, find the centre of your LCR splitter, line them up then start taping it to the bumper while bending/cutting/fiddling with it. I cut little 'V' shapes in the splitter to make it bend easier.

Originally the two centre posts are to big so, you'll need to trim them so that it will fit flush with the bumper.

Also I remember that the back bits hit the front wheels so cut about 10-15mm off so its easy to move around.

No need to remove the bottom engine cover. Attach Splitter with self tappers

so to clarify, its not the wrong splitter. (there is only one LCR splitter)

however im unsure what you mean by it not lining up with the lights as a splitter isnt anything to do with the lights?

it is made for the Leon, so it will most likely be a little too long and may need someone to bend / hold it on place when you self tap it.
just cut the ends off once in place, its easy to cut.

if you can put a pic up when done that would be good! however post 5 signature shows one with a splitter fitted?

yer what a was meaning was on the standerd ibiza front the flat bit in the middle is longer than the lcr splitter meanign the bending out part on the LCR splitter is before the ones on the ibiza probably just needs work al do it when I get some time :D

ah you mean the profile is not the same shape exactly as the splitter.
its the same for those who have put the LCR splitter on the leon cupra.

it does bend a bit so you can 'encourage it' to fit.
or if you really want it to fit exactly then its possible to heat it and reshape, however id suggest you fit it best as, then if you ever want to replace it a new one wil fit the same.
