I have almost had my car 2 years and done 26K miles. Its getting better and better. How many K miles would you say that the car is properly run in as these cars can go on for ages. I was just wondering how people are getting on with theres and what mods you have done. I have got revo and jbs shifter. Feels really good. However I have turned the revo off at the mo coz I cant get the power down because of the ice. All in all i love the diesel power. Merry xmas all.

How do you mean, you've caught it putting things up its tailpipe?
Mine is going fine too, 33k miles or so and apart from me changing stuff / wearing things out i'm happy. It's the only car to date that ticks all the boxes for me
FR+ TDI 2005 with 12,500 on the clock. Love it, can't beat that torque, its great on fuel and looks great. Even better with a custom code phase one!
If Seat kept making them i'd buy another in 3 years, but i'm still not sure about the MK2's yet.

Had it decatted, but it wasn't running as i'd like, so the cat is back on.
Going to need a clutch upgrade next year and if money is spare i'll go for a Cryo2 kit and then possibly a phase 2.
It all revolves around insurance costs TBH as i can't afford to throw away a £14k car by not declaring the mods if i have an accident.
Any suggestions?

FR TDI 2005 with 15 k on the clock. 5 k of which have been done since i got the car about two months ago!!!Love it! Faultless....so far....
No mods yet but thinking about a remap later next year, only put off by clutch slip issues.

mines 04 plate cupra tdi, 18.5k on the clock love it too bits, like fester said ticks all boxes, and get a reall buz when i add somthing new too it, also like it as there isnt another car on the road with the looks

Same as Arctic here, had mine 14 months and just hit 20k in it (so another service due).
Only problem I am finding is a tendency to feel unstable at speed, pulling either direction, think I have plenty of tread left and check tyres regularly, but dealers say nothing is wrong. A couple of occasions the car feels like its wobbled!.
Apart from that, love the car, its the first I have had that I will actually keep I think, it ticks all the boxes.

It is always best to declare all mods to the insurance company in case you do have an accident, why not try ringing a few companies up and see what quotes you get if you were to put such mods on?
What clutch kits have you been looking at? I recommend going for the Sachs, been nothing but impressed with that kit in my Ibiza, standard feel yet much better torque handling!

Most of the clutch damage happens at low down RPM at full throttle which does not help if your car has a big torque spike! With the Custom-Code remaps we eliminate that torque spike for a smooth torque curve to eliminate any clutch problems

the clutch i bought was £250 and think its fantastic, its a by techni clutch comes with 40k warrenty holds 450nm of torque maybe a bit more, and just impressed with the whole kit, and a bargain
Not looked into it yet. Toying with the idea once the Xmas spend is done and dusted and funds are available again next month.
Are you able to source a Sachs kit and fit them? I've heard alot of good reviews about them.

Thanks for the reply.
I understand what you are saying about the torque spikes, but do the stage 1 generic remaps you offer smooth this out, or to do this would one have to go for a fully 'customised' (non generic) remap?
Also i currently drive my standard car within the region of 1.5K revs to 3K revs riding the wave of torque the engine serves up, but never at full throtle. Will this damage my clutch in anyway by constantly making it deal with all the torque?. Thanks.

With all the Custom-Code phase 1 remaps we have proven files with smooth torque curves
so there is no need to go for a Phase 2 to get a smooth curve!As long as you are not at full throttle at 1.5 - 2K then you should be OK
what I usually do is either change down a gear or put half throttle until around 2.2K then full throttle!Regards
