Review of new Cupra in the Telegraph Motoring Section

Just read the review, made a lot of comparisons (due to the power output) to the Astra VXR and said it was far superior - mainly due to its ability to actually put the power down without a bucket load of torque pulling you off the road.

Interior and styling wise they loved it, apart from the Gear Knob which i got to agree is nasty.

Interstingly they said there were ample differences to distinguish it from an FR and it was a far superior car.

Concluded compairing it to the Golf GTI, said it was better at putting the power down but unsure how it would fair head to head on a UK back road and thats the only way they could distinguish whos better.

Clearly a class leader that needs to be put up against the GTI and Mazda 3 MPS to see who is the true leader in this market sector!

Personally i think it looks fantastic and i have no doubts it goes brilliantly too - there test car was yellow btw. (looks great!)

It is really growing on me, the only problem Seat are going to have is convince existing mk1 Leon Cupra R people to changeover. I do like the mk2 Cupra but the mk1 looks better.
