Hi all,
am new to this forum so hello !
Have had my fr130 tdi for about six months now and am very happy with it, however being always after abit more performance was wondering if there was any none warrenty voiding mods I can make to get the performance fiqures up? I say this as unfortunatly my mrs still has to use the car for work so it cant be too much for her! :D
I have heard that it can me made to priduce the same power as a cupra tdi [150bhp ish?] just by having it chipped? hope that you guys can shed some light or anyother suggestions appreciated,
Thanks very much!
Iain

Ibiza?

If so its around 165-175bhp depending on map and it can be more with a decent air filter and intercooler, but I don't think the missus will allow that!

We can put you on a TUV certified remap so if you tell your dealers about it they sometimes say its okay and that it will not void your warranty. This is probably the only thing you can do to having a non warranty voiding mod.

Have a nice chat to your local seat dealer service manager! Thans what i would suggest. Short of that you can have the remap put on and should your car need warranty work we can retrofit your car back to standard for free and even remap for free too later providing the car is brought to a convenient location.

Our remaps are as good as invisible though so this issue might not even arise.

Hope this helps.

We can put you on a TUV certified remap

Its only the tools used to flash the ECU that are TUV certified arnt they , and not the tuning/mapping ??

How do you TUV certify a custom map when the file content belongs to the main dealer or manafacturer ??
If you had TUV certified on every file then surley you would have to send the file to them every time for testing.

ON these sites where your tools and tuned files are from.

http://www.audaso.com/

It looks as its only the tool with TUV.

I may be totaly wrong this is why im asking.

The tools most of us in the UK have are TUV certifiecation on but that does not mean that WE are persoanly certified.

Thanks for all the replies people,do you think the dealership we be able to check for remaps as i assume its not visable work? so a few more questions if thats ok ? What is the cost for these maps? and would these acheive the 170bhp fqures that someone mentioned? that would be very adequate! thanks for your help, and advise, also is there any other aspects or pitfuls that I should be considering ie ? will mpg be greatly reduced?
Cheers

The dealers dont usualy have the special tools to read the mapping and see if it is tuned or not.
regarding cost all companys are different, you will need to email them for pricing and figures to be gained.

For a solid remap with no frills look here.

Speak to James Heath. He knows his stuff.
After the remap he will return the ECU to stock if required FOC.
I've done 9,500 miles on one of his remaps. No probs as of today.
See my avatar for numbers. Still doing 54.8 MPG.

Hi Dave.

No problems with the car at all.

You can go higher than 175/275 but that's where clutch slip is likely to occur.
Stopping at the figures I have gives a great balance of power and performance.
The car is responsive but not difficult to handle, and you don't need to change anything on the car such as the air filter or brakes unless you want to.

The engine doesn't soot or smoke and my fuel consumption is really good if I drive the car without a heavy right foot.

If you have any more questions let me know.

Regards Guy.
