for the past few weeks my mk 3 cupra has been running like a bag of sh*t some days it wil boost really well then others times it will really hold back on you its like the turbo is not there, also i was out today just going along at 60mph looked at the temperature gauge and the needle had dropped right below the 60 mark and it has never gone below 90 whilst the engine has fully warmed up.

my car is standard apart from a forge dv007 and cat back stainless steel exhust system

any suggestions wat the problem could be?

is there any1 in the dorset with vag com who would be willing to do a diagnosis on my car

cheers

It might not actually come up as a fault, you'd have to go in and look at the values being sent from the sensor.

Sounds like it !

Anyone know roughly how much it is ?

£15 from GSF and a VERY VERY easy fix. The new ones are green, the old ones have known issues (or at least known 'short lives').

Part number is available in a post I was involved in about 2 months ago, so search and it will be there.

VAG COM DOES show the temp sensor has a fault (engine management light comes on too, if it's serious enough). Mine was showing 'implausible signal' as well as signal out of range. It's completely possible that yours is broken but not throwing up dubious enough values to cause the ECU to notice and log a fault.

boost problems will be the death of me - I had a coolant temp sensor message - then discovered it was a spilt hose - but then a day later, its going back in to limp mode!
