Yeah.

Some quick googling is revealing no information on this ryan's investments.

I'll pop a letter in the post today about it, and I'll get Seat to confirm that in writing too.

Looks like i'm saved now. Just got to get through tomorrow.

not really u still have no warrenty as ur car has no history... this said u could try to sweet talk the service department and get them to back stamp it for £50 or something.

the likelyhood of it breaking down is slim but the warrenty is wat makes piece of mind if i can get it fake stamped for £50 on the chance of keeping my warrenty then id do it hell id pay £200

also i have never seen the service like come on infact i think seat might have saved money by not putting bulbs in there lol

good luck for tomorrow mate.

Smee - Yes it has no history, but when it gets serviced tomorrow, that there is the history.

If it HAS missed the 10K service, SEAT themselves say that is no problem.

So with my stamp at 15K tomorrow and something in writing from SEAT, then I should be fine.

Yeah if it hasn't BEEN serviced then there is no history not to have! so by getting it serviced a bit late is providing a service history - i did think about suggesting that you get the 'service agent' to back date the stamp but if it ain't going to cause a problem then why bother.

I think the Renault Diesels have a service interval of 24 months or 18k It's a different engine i know BUT they seem to run ok.

What people reading this thread have to bear in mind is that I have a Facelifted FR which is an 06 - Apr 06. I bought it in Sept with 9K on it.

New at 1st registration means that it wasn't driven about for 9 months in ireland as a rental car, deregistered & then registered as a UK car (to hide it's history)

No, you can have a 'new' import - it's just never registered in the country you bought it in..

I think a car has to be 6 months old to be 'not new' therefore VAT exempt

Hmm, it's a face lifted FR though, so impossible.

I reckon it's been a UK Fleet Car now...

Anyway, car's in for the service, Motorpoint took it off me with no qualms. Just hope they do a good job of it.

Well, to keep my mind sane, i've paid for an AA data check, and it says that this car is not imported, but also there's no other problems to report either :)

I'd check it, check it then check it again before you leave their premisis. Simply to make sure you're happy with everything that has and hasn't been done.

this is how i felt after my dealings, i 'd perhpas buy new from them but to be honest i spent a bit more and recieved great service from the SEAT dealer i enetually bought mine from. Hope this hasn't affected your SEAT owning experience?

Oh god no :)

It's certainly affected how I buy cars in the future though.

I've previously purchased cars from Ron Skinners (big car supermarket up in the Welsh Valleys) and I had a Fiat Seicento that was from Ireland. I had all the relevant documents with that though.

If i'd had the service history with my Seat though, i'd probably not be too worried as none of this would have happened in the first place.

But, I am now a Seat convert, and I do fancy a Leon next, not sure if i'll go FR again, but see how the rest of my miles with me beeza go :)

Glad to hear it, and HOPEFULLY it's turned out that you've got a bargain despite the extra effort to tidy things up. I did fancy the Leon FR (Mk1) this time but i just wasn't willing to stretch that bit further £ wise over the Ibiza (my mate has a 1.8T Leon Cupra and it's very nice). It certainly does change your attitude towards future purchases though doesn't it? (note for the future: the pictures of the new Leon Cupra are very nice!! :) :))
