Hi there, this is my first post guys.
I currently drive a Nissan X-Trail Dci 2005 but am blown away by the look of the new Leon FR. Can you guys let me have the pros and cons of this vehicle..

The best new price I have currently is £16800.00 for:

New Leon FR TDi in yellow
Bluetooth Pack
Convenience Pack
18" Wheel Upgrade

Is this a good price or is there room for further haggling??

Does the yellow paint stand the test of time?

How does this car compare with the 150bhp golf tdi s of old?

Do all Leons suffer with rattling problems, this is why I'm shifting from XTrail - Can't stand the rattling dashboard

Any questions answered would be much appreciated.

Broadspeed are quoting £16,715.00 same spec car with at least eight week delivery so your price doesn't seem bad.
Yellow is good colour choice (I am Biased) The paint should stand the test of time.
Can't give you comparison between golf and Fr but there is a considerable difference between my 140 bhp Altea and my new Leon FR.
Bluetooth is excellent!

Price seems pretty good to me.

Wouldn't expect to have any problems with Crono yellow, it was my second choice colour (well first choice but my wife thought it looked too loud :D ).

Never driven a Golf TDI 150 so I can't comment.

Build quality wise I think the new Leons are improvement on that last model (we had a MK1 Cupra) and on part with VW and Audi (my last vehicle was 2004 A4 190ps Sport). Having said that ours has got one rattle which occurs over about 80 - 85 mph (private road use of course). I'm hoping this will be sort soon though.

Overall we are very pleased with our FR TDI :D

Just had a look there, more expensive I'd say. The best price I have so far is from drivethedeal.com - They offer free UK delivery.

I forgot to mention heated seats in the price they quoted me. Anyone purchased a car from these guys? My mate at work has and he's well pleased with the service.

Thanks buddy, I'm thinking of the 18" upgrade, how do you rate them? Does the ride appear any firmer?

Sorry can't comment because only driven two FRs both with 18" wheels fitted.

The FR's ride is firm, no doubt about it but not to point of making you feel sick like one journalist suggested. In my opinion the 18" wheels just look better, that's why I opted for them.

Good shout - There's nothing worse than a great looking car being under-wheeled.. The Porsche Cayenne is the finest example of this..

huh ??? did you say the Cayenne is a great looking car .....??

1) Its not a car , its a tank , and
2) it looks f****** ugly !!!

Agree with you in principle about cars lookin under wheeled, though :)

Hi ive an FR TDI170 also with 18's, bluetooth and convpack in red. Its a good car hard suspension but terriffic grip for a front driver , previous car was an audi A4 2.0T FSI S Line this was a front driver and really struggled with grip at the front while accelerating. The FR's main bugbear is down to the DPF which seems to get partially blocked and the car runs like a dog when this happens (described accurately by someone one here as sounding like a 10 year old transit van). This does spoil my enjoyment of the car as it missfires, shakes and has reduced power whilst this is going on.
I have also owned a golf pd150 so can comment on this question, the golf was slightly quicker and around 10mpg more economical mine easily managed mid 50's on a run wheras the most ive had from the leon is mid 40's and that was trying. The golf handled like a dog no such problems with the leon if u dont mind a firm ride, the steering is precise and grip awesome. The leon will also rev easily to 4500 where there was little point taking the golf above 4000.
The bluetooth is a must and very good although when scrolling through the phonebook it also causes the radio to change channel, is this just mine or do others cars do this?. conv pack is also a must and 18's make the car look so much better than the ugly(in my opinion) 17's although i would have preferred a nice bright silver colour to the graphite one they come in. The only other option i waished i had fitted is the usb adapter for mp3's which was only a £75 factory option, anyone now if this is a dealer fit option yet?

I would say the FR TDI should hold its value ok, a lot better than the petrol im sure. The MK1 FR TDIs are still holding their value, wonder how long this will last though...

Very true. Hubby's cousin was offered £13.5k for his 55 plate. He only paid £14k in the first place! (special offer on when he bought it)
