Right, I bought my 2nd hand LC a good few weeks back now, it also came with a towbar fitted by the Stealers - which I didnt mind as I knew it had been fitted correctly. I also knew that the company that had it from new, only ever towed a small trailor to and from work.

Now that I have had the towbar removed, I have a hole in my bumper. Been to a dealer, IMG in Warrington (top place to go, recommended these guys before) and they said a bumper is £200 exc vat and paint job - so roundabout £500 all in.

Can anyone offer me any advice as what to do, I'm thinking of holding out till Ive saved some dosh and buying the LCR bumpers front and back.

Help

I was going to have it colour coded but decided not to bother but that's always an option.

The left picture shows the blanking plate in place and the right picture with it removed and the detatchable towbar fitted.

Would cost about £60 just to paint though..the part isn't expensive though..less than a tenner if I recall.

PM Flapper and he'll be able to get the part number from the EKTA system

There is a blanking plate you can buy as a seat part that will cover the hole to save you going the new bumper route..
I assume you are reffering to the detachable tow bar sytem. The cover is a clip on type designed to be taken on and off for fitting the detachable tow ball.
Have you had the tow bar completely removed? that required taking off the bumper. if so can you not have a curved piece of plastic fited in permantly and sprayed. If you have a pre face lift leon cupra then the lower half of the bumper is black anyway so would be disguised.

second that...mark do you still have the above pics?

thanks

There are two cover depending on the type of towbar fitted to the mark one leon
if you have the VAG towbar the part no is
PEKA GERMANY 70199400

if you have the Brink towbar like me the cover is more square and the part no is
SEAT -TEILNR 6K6 803 595

these are the numbers on the back of the covers

I'll try and get pics of the Brink and VAG towbars and I may be able to get hold of a cover for the VAG towbar.

cheers

I had a detachable Brink fitted two years ago by towequipe in nuneaton for £299. thats with single electrics. Very nice towbar better than the VAG part.
they fitted it while I waited, took over 2 hours though as I recall.
