Hi there sorry to post something that has been commented on so many times, but theres just 2 much information 2 read, Iv read most and just got a few questions u all may be to help with.

Im thinking of ordering a vw flip key as I only have 1 key for my seat and im told VW work fine with them, for the VW owning seat reason or whatever. Anyway I have a 433mhz key and I only have 1 transponder or whatever, so would the vw one be ok 2 program at the seat dealer to the car and in general would it work ok?

What I would suggets is - purchase a flip key from eBay, any frequency will do, my original key was a 433 and my flip key is a 434, get the blade cut, program it to your car, go to SEAT and get them to prog the immobiliser chip to your car. I bought my flip key from keyman99_uk (or similar) and it came as a brand new key, uncut blank with a new battery and transponder. Think its 30 - to quid for the chip programming.

Hope this answers your question.

Cheers.

chears mate thanks for that , the order to do things in was really helpfull, main problem I had was if the SEAT garage would program the transponder for a VW flip key as some people had said they had, had problems with SEAT saying it couldnt be done etc

As far as I know, you can't just register an additional transponder with the ECU, you have to zero the immobiliser memory and add all the keys again. This is a security feature, to stop someone being able to add a key while the car is out of your hands.

Correct...

All keys have to be coded together, not sure why but Muttley's theory makes total sense.

great so this means If I need another key kut, I have 2 get both transponders coded, probably meaning I need 2 buy a new 1 for the other key 2 knowing seat, robbing tw***

still have to remove the badge and they are all 3 button so look a bit wrong and there are no used ones out there or new ones on ebay
