Leon TDI Going for 330D

Stupid is, as stupid does
I've owned my 54 plate cupTDI from new. She's racked up 42,000 miles now. I'm bored of it and have always fancied a 3 series coupe (not the brand new shape). I love the Leon though, great fun and value, but I like to change cars every couple of years.

A couple of questions if I may..

1) How much would I get for my car selling it private? Approx £10,500? Its got 2 small car parking dings, but apart from that its mint. In Arctic Grey. And its still got 9 months warranty.

2) Anyone know of a decent BMW owners forum (no jokes about beemer drivers, i just like the car)

3) I was looking at the 330D Coupe, EBAY item number: 190052521213 and although the mileage is high, that is the car I'm after. But is that the 330D SE or is ithe 330 CD M Sport? I've emailed the guy, but no response.

4) Has anyone any experience of the 3 series with the 3.0 litre diesel engine?

Cheers

nice choice mate, my dad has just got rid of his 530d, goes like a rocket for such a big car, loads of torque standard, and also doesnt sound like a diesel

Surely you can find a better price than that for a 330D... My Boss just bought an 04 530i with plenty of trimmings and only 18,000 miles for a handsome sum of only £19k

Their 3rd year value is about £14,500 (ouch!) - and that is way beyond on its mileage.

well a very nice upgrade sri_130, it wasnt that long ago that the 3 litre bmw lump was considered one of the best diesel engines available. even now its still very desirable for its smoothness, its not so good on fuel as the 4 cylinder lumps though, but thats to be expected to a degree.

Cheers lads.
I did a bit of reading on the t'interweb last night and discovered that they did a 330CD SE which is the one in the Ebay auction i displayed - by the way, NOT after that ACTUAL car, i think someone said it was overpriced etc, which it is for the mileage etc. And the other model is a 330CD M Sport, which has a few internal and external refinements to the M degree.

The M sport one is a little bit more, but I'd hate to be in a position in a year or so of 'i wish i'd have bought that one' - if you know what i mean. I might as well splash out and treat mysen. - you only live once i guess.

Incidentally I found just the ticket on the trader. 04 plate, 29,500 miles M sport with full service blah blah blah for £18,995.

My brother in law has the 530d standard and it goes like sh^t off a stick, so put that in a lighter/smaller car i guess it will go.

I'll pm those two guys and ask them, cheers for that.

The book states average mpg to be about 42mpg, but for the first few months its more than likely to be about 10!!

Mine seems to do about 25mpg around town and highest in traffic has been 34mpg (all off the computer - not got around to doing a brim test).
