Yes!

Based on a family members experiences the sales side of things was very poor!!! The level of customer service was seriously lacking!!

Very disapointed as I had recomended Seat, and as a result I doubt I'll be bying a new car from them!!

By complete contrast the Parts Department Manager (Dave) is superb and goes out of his way to help!. Found the service side of things to be very good too!

I've not bought a car from them but have found them to be very helpful in the past particularly sorting out troublesome warranty issues. John the Gaffer sorted out my paint issues without telling me it was "supposed to be like that", the head techie (Chris) sorted out my gearbox, Vince and Co on the service desk were always polite and professional. They were also cheaper than the Stealer that are closer to me.

Why are you asking insider? I thought you worked at a dealership?

The service at francis was absolutely awful

I was looking to buy a cordy tdi 130 but couldn't find any locally (HERTFORDSHIRE ) so i turned to the net .

Did a search and a 53 plate came up at the FRANCIS PARTNERSHIP :D

As the dealership is about 130 miles away i negotiated a good price , and the sales manager assured me that the car was in a1 condition and well worth the drive for a viewing .

After nearly 2 hours driving , one sunday morning , me and the wife arrived and couldn't believe how poor the cordy looked , with scratches and dents all over the outside body :(

After about 30 minutes the manager finally came out and asked do i want to buy the car ? my reply was , i think i need a testdrive first , and look at the interior .

The managers response was unbelievable : don't know about that , the car's nearly out of diesel , oh all rigt then

When we got into the car , me and the wife just looked at each other , the interior was worse than the outside .

The plastics were all marked and scratched , the roof and seats were stained ,
and the whole car stunk of stale fags and he said that it had been valeted .

The final straw came when he promptly walked off and said : must go , i have a trainee rep inside and he can't be left for to long .

After a 2 hour trip , and a weeks online chat you would have thought that a manager would give better customer service than that .

Needless to say we made a quick exit from that pile of crap and that dealership :help:

I ended up doing another net search and buying from HALESOWEN west midlands ( another 2 hour trip )

Sorry to waffle on so much but this really did piss me off ,

many thanks ,

mark

Francis Leicester....well they do lack in certain areas esp vince on reception/service
Ive had few high& lows with them.

I deal diect with their techie Chris Dayton on various issues, a fine chap who understands (so far)!
Parts are helpful too. Overall they can do so much better!!

The VW part centre round the back has really good prices for most things but never had the car serviced there - Chapmans in Wigston is best for that

Dunno whether to count this as good or bad?!

Had a creaking from my front suspension. They looked at it twice (once in a service, and once during some new pads) and just greased it up. The third time they charged me 1 hour (£94), picked it up and dropped it off, but still had the same problem [:@]!

They then took it in for free for a fourth time, rebuilt the front suspension (apparently sounded worse), figured out what was up with it, then did another rebuild which fixed it.

Was a bit annoying that it took 4 goes at it, but the amount of work for £94 ain't to bad at all, and they also said they would keep the work ticket open, in case the problem came back.

Bought my Toledo TDI 150 from here

I bought my Toledo TDI 150 from Francis SEAT in Leicester two years ago. It was quite a difficult car to find as there's not many about.

They were OK but a bit pushy at selling Autoglym 'Life shine' product to me.

Got two complimentary bottles of wine as part of sale.

Had to contact them to get additional service history from them.

Never got my car serviced with them as I live in Derby.

I go to Sunset (formerly Sunset VW) in Derby and have done for years.
