Broken into - sort of

Hi,

My car got broken into last night - sort of....

Is there any known way of getting into a locked Leon without damaging it? Car was locked and windows all up last night, walked out this morning - all doors unlocked and all electric windows down in the lowest position, glove box open but they hadn't even bothered stealing the cds I had hanging around.

Just curious as to how they could have got in. Leon SE TDi - 52 reg.

Thanks

Mike

Why would they put all the windows down?

Could it be an electrical fault?

You sure your central locking system hasn't thrown a fit? It's possible to wind the windows down to the lowest setting by using the key in the lock. So it could be possible that something has gone wrong (short perhaps?) in your central locking and it's been enough to unlock everything?

As DPJ says please read old posts on this subject we do not want to explore what happened only for this to become a 'How to Break into a Leon' thread on a public forum.

There is a 'risk' with the Leon and some other VAG cars, the result of the break in leaves all the windows down as described.

When I say there is a 'risk' there are risks in everything we do including getting out of bed so don;t start panic posting either

Ah, sorry for resurrecting an old topic. I've found the references for delocking, but I'm not going to go down that route as I don't keep anything valuable in the car (obviously as nothing was taken!).

Thanks again. Another reason to avoid VAG (I've not had a great experience with this Leon and it was probably going in Spring anyway).
