Fitted at the weekend, have bedded in now and seem to be just as sharp (if not better) than the brembo pads I had on previously.
They were from a small motorfactors in Wilmslow, Cheshire. I'll have to dig out the name.

If people want to spend £30, £40 or £50 on brake pads good luck to them.
IMO it's a false economy on so many fronts, without touching on Safety of you and your family etc there are other factors too...
People tried buying cheap Galfer pads on SCn before, everyone jumped on the bandwagon and about 80% of those people ended up with scored disks. They are now replacing the disks early but I'm sure the £40 they saved on pads was well worth it
Cupra Rog did a similar thing with cheap Mintex pads on a track day which fell apart and scored his disks and didn't last one day! sure they got some abuse on track but I remember seeing the video and the pads were billowing brake dust and ended up just crumbling....maybe they weren't run in right
or maybe they were cheap trash.....you decide I tried 3 sets of different pads on my LCR
Standard Brembo replacements (2 sets) both crap IMO
Performance Friction Carbon Metallic - Expensive at £140 but brilliant stopping power, too much brake dust for my liking though
Ferrodo DS2500 Great compromise, improved feel, fade free, wear well without wearing the disk or scoring

Bit melodramatic maybe, but there's a lot to be said for buying tried and tested pads - not just the cheapest
Fortunately, with a community this size there's plenty of opportunity for people to try out new products and rate and review them for the rest.
I found some 2-piece discs for £600 the other night ... just need to remember where
Other alternatives like the Galfer 2-piece discs and those in the Brembo GrandTurismo kit will set you back upwards of £800
The 'disc' (braking surface) is seperate, and bolted to a 'bell' (section with the holes for wheel bolts) so the disc assembly is more resistant to warping under heat.

Check the price is up to date though
As TIIEWL says the warp less which is a major issue with the LCR, but you really need to be pushing things to see the benefit....if you do track work or continued hard braking then they are worth it.
Also the 2 piece system is far lighter than the OE disks
Galfer pads are supposed to be oem quality or better and the 1055 compound is supposed to be fast road use! yes there are now some Issues with scored disc but I didnt get em just cos they were cheap but also on the reputation of Galfer! Just a shame I bought a pig without knowing also a member on here worked very hard to get us a good deal on these and he got caught too with a very good expensive setup, until I know better this may just turn out to be an off batch of pads and Galfer will sort it! Fingers Very crossed!!!
