It's on the air intake tube from your air box. There is a square section on the intake tube that has a plug and some wires going into it. I'm sure someone will have a picture though, in fact, have you had a search yet as somebody may have already posted a picture?

i thought it was that one. seen a picture of it but just wasnt to sure. do i just need to un clip the top bit then and see how it drives?

What valve did you put on? If it's an atmospheric then that could be causing it. Sounds like an air leak same as when i put an atmospheric dump valve on my lcr, the ecu thinks you have an air leak so it puts you in safe mode.

Yes, just unplug the cable and go for a drive. Don't leave it off for too long though as your car may run rich which isn't good for the cat. But short term - i.e. a good thrash to test the cars performance - will be fine.

This is gettin past a joke now. The traction control light (the triangle with the ! in the middle) has come on and stuck on. Is this another falt or all to do with the same thing? Do any of you think it could have anythin to do with the re map as ive only had it done just over a wk ago and never had a problem before then?

Nothing wrong with your remap.

When it's remaped it tends to show up something that was going to fail sooner rather than later.

I guess you have tried removing your MAF and gone for a drive, if so then it will show the engine light. It will go out again just give it some time.

Check your pipes. I'm sure it's not MAF related.

If in doubt, get it booked into a garage with a rolling road and they will find the problem for you. Might cost a few quid, but it will be better than driving a faulty, under-performing car around.

im back from havin my car hooked up to a VAG COM. The MAF reading was below wot a standard car would read and with mine bein re maped it was way below wot it should have been if you understand that. Checked pipes and dump valve and all that seems fine. The falt seems to be pointin at the MAF then i think or hope!!!!!!!

The TCS light comes on and stays on when the MAF sensor is unplugged....

My remapped Ibiza goes into limp mode if I run the car over 130mph for a prolonged period if time... I reckon that is due to overboosting and possibly the fault of the N249 I suppose... !?!

I don't tend to drive the car at that speed though (unless on a private road), so doesn't cause too many problems in daily use.

I have had it do the same to me when at normal speeds though, triggered by holding it in 2nd gear near the red line for longer than usual without changing gear (stuck behind someone coming out of a 40 zone into a 70 zone).
