fuse burnning out!

just went take my battery out of my cupra so i can change the headlight bulbs took off the cover for the fuses on the battery and founf that the 30 amp on the right hand side of the 3 fuses has competly melted does anyone no what this fuse does and why it has burned out i dont think i will be able to get it out as it is all brittle and burned out pretty bad

It is the power supply for the colling fans, auxilary water pump and magnetic clutch. This is a common problem, i removed and dismantled mine and cleaned it up. Had no problems since and i never switch my aircon off.

The reason for the melting is due to the current draw of the cooling fans. If the car was still under warranty new fans would be fitted.

phoned my local dealer today to order a new fuse holder for on top of my battery and they said they needed the amp rating of my battery just had a look on the battery but could not find anything do all the cupras have a standard amp rating
