Not decided on the colour as yet, waiting for the full colour list, just got myself on the order list, as they maybe limited supply at first.

But possibly Black, or Zenith Grey. Options likewise, not 100% yet, but convenience pack, possibly the winter pack and the iPod connection, and i might get a Sunroof, not had one since my Ibiza in 1998 :p

Factory builds are due to take place in the coming month or so, January being most likely for UK orders, dealers will get demo's in February or thereabouts, and customers should get their orders for March 1st or just after.

*cough* Aero front bumper *cough*

IMO the new Leon suits lighter colors better, silver looks very good

Prefer it as they come, not a huge fan of the Aero bumpers, might have the skirts, but that's about it. Had silver-ish, time for a change, don't like samey!!

And i'll clash with Syphon :p

The Black is the purple/red hue, ie motorshow. But the colours are still un-specified, but its expected they will be the same choice as the FR, but with the addition of the new colour.

I was adament that I wanted the new leon since I saw the first pictures, and it was the only reason that I went to the motorshow. I loved the purple one!!

The reviews have dissapointed me a little so doubt did start to set in, but now I have seen the light and I want one now!!!

Definatley going to have to ring the dealer and show my interest, leon cupra is going to be mine. It will show my brothers MK5 GTI what it is all about - hehehe

" And, yes, although we’re sure the marketing bods could tell us it’s n per cent better value than most of them, the bottom line is that it’s nineteen-and-a-half grand. That’ll buy a Focus, Megane or Astra, and is only about £800 less than the starting price of a Golf. Is the Golf worth that? Yep. And the rest." - Autocar.

Can't say I disagree, as unpopular a view as that's likely to be. Got 3 stars overall in the print mag and in the summary section said "the last cupra r felt very special this one doesn't". It'll be interesting to drive it for comparison but i've a sneaky feeling my next car isn't going to be the SEAT this time around with both the ST and Golf touted as better drives.. The styling is bland at best - especially when there's 2 other cars in the SEAT range looking much the same (but wearing a different name). Ah well..

Back from the dead
There was an article in the front of Audi driver magazine in October saying how badly skewed journalists reports are these days, and they had received about 20 odd letters stating readers were withdrawing or cancelling orders of the Audi TT 2.0T and S3 becuase of mixed journalist reviews.

If you enjoy the drive, like the car and are prepared to pay the price on the screen then feck everyone else. I know its tempting to believe your buying an unbiased and expert review, but unfortunately journalist in the main are writers not drivers so you can't be 100% certain that you can believe the 'hype' or lack of it. Be your own judge.

I quite agree and i'm sure journos are far from impartial quite a bit of the time. As I said, i'll be driving it and making up my own mind but really my point was that at the projected price (just shy of 20k) it's got some stiff competition - some people don't want to hear that

Still everyone's entitled to their opinion, along as it agrees with your own, right?

If that really was the case Tim, i'd of binned your post, your entitled to your opinion, I am also entitled to a counter opinion. And that's it short an sweet, if folks look back thru your exhaustive posts on the subject I am sure they'll more than know your point of view. :D

If the competition bothered anyone on here, why the hell did we buy MK1 Leon's.

We should be in Focus's or Golf's or anything but a SEAT.

The competition might be perceived to be better to the journalists, but at the end of the day its up to the individual to decide what they spend their hard earned on.

Unless of course your offering to buy one for me ;)

Does seem to be a massive variance in what Journo's think, I know the Focus RS boys think EVO have it in for them for example.

I used to buy Autocar but these days it's cr@p IMO, not impressed with it at all.

Every up and coming Journo is trying to become the next Jeremy Clarkson I think.

I'm waiting to see what EVO think of the Cupra, new edition is out today / tomorrow I think.........

From my experience with motoring journo's (not just reading their articles) many of them aren't interested in cars....

that might sound dumb, but think about it.... if you're an IT manager, are you really "into networks" or are you just making a living. Me, I'm in the Electronics industry, but I don't sit there enjoying it - I just am good at it.

What I'm trying to say - is that many journo's can write about anything in a way that only some of us can dream, but they couldn't tell torque steer from a torque wrench.

Well, Mark, if you look back through my (exhaustive? lol I'm hardly on here these days..) posts you'll note i've never said anything to the contrary - and as much could be infered from your own posts on the subject. Chill.
