Just to let you guys know that its good bye from me. I have had many good times in my cupra and but it was time for it to go, so I have just sold my mk3 ibiza Cupra :( but now a proud owner of a 06 Astra VXR :funk: , people on here are a bit bias when it comes to other makes of cars so i am ready for any comments........but to tell you the truth, I picked it up in Southampton which is over 430 miles from me, and driving it back up the road i couldn't fault it one little bit. The acceleration, the handling, the build quality(yes the build quality)and the sheer looks just does it for me.

Here are some pics, sorry about the quality, don't know whats happened.

Well first off, afaik there isnt a vrx unless vauxhall have a prototype somewhere :p, yes it may torquesteer, but, it cannot tourque steer as much as a highly tuned diesel like mine now. Next thing it isnt the cupra r, its just a cupra ;) both have circa 240 bhp, the VXR comes in at around £19,125 were as the CUPRA is £19,999 iirc.

The leon may be slightly bigger, and slightly more spacious in the back, seeen as it having 5 doors as apposed to 3 like the astra. Personally i wouldnt complain if i had the VXR, if it understeers, or torque steers, things can be changed to make this stop. As he comes from a modding background and enjoys doing it, im sure it wont take long before the astra has a few new tricks up its sleeves.

Very Nice car!
Did you get the dealer upgrade to 300bhp?

300bhp

Even at £1000 it's better value than getting 300bhp from a LCR.

Enjoy the VXR mate. I have seen a few about and think they look great. Vauxhall have really got their act together over the last few years. My girlfriend has a 06 Vectra until her new Octavia eventually arrives and you can't fault it's build quality.

Mine is an 06 plate, with around 4k on the clock, it was an ex-demonstrator so it had the optional 19" alloys and cruise control, and for a mere price of £16350, so not as dear as you think!! But i did shop around and haggle a bit:p

It does torque steer but give me any car with that type of performance that doesn't, it just adds to the fun of driving!! :drive1: You just have to be able to put the power down correctly. When it comes to handling, i was shocked how good it was, ye you get some sliding here and there in the wet but it sticks to the road in the dry, its very solid feeling and it feels quite squat over the road and corners very well, even without the sport botton on. With the sport botton on it stiffens the dampers and steering, and also increases throttle control which all helps to improve the handling. Put it this way no problems so far!!

Cheers for the comments Spaniels fr. Possible full milltek and remap......280bhp+[B)]

I ain't telling you thief!
Personally, I'd rather run everywhere than drive there in a Vauxhall...but each to their own! Enjoy your car chap!

Have you worked out how much you'll be losing in depretiation yet? :D
