I don't think the reviews are too bad.

But £19.5k isn't cheap though. especially when a Gol GtT is £20k (and tunable) and Focus is a fair bit cheaper still.

cmc

And why isnt the Cupra as tunable? Its looking fairly positive that its sporting a K04 turbo now, ala S3, so possibly upto 300hp capable. And what folks forget is whats standard on the SEAT, will cost thousands more to add to the Golf, spec a Golf GTI to the same spec. ;)

Focus ST is comparable actually again if you consider spec, its much like an ST2 or ST3, which is broadside of £19k.

As always down to personal choice, some will like, some won't.

My deposit is standing by. ;)

Doubt they will, but based on they are claiming its a larger turbocharger in the press release, must indicate its using a K04 or possibly a modified K03s, but the FR 2.0TFSI is supposed to run a K03s.

SEAT won't release technical info like Turbo codes, a dealer maybe able to check once it appears on the ETKA parts system.

Short of that, we'll know when we can look under the bonnet of one. ;)

so, any idea until the dealerships will have one so we can have a little gander under the bonnet?

I know they are being released in march, but what about a demo?

Well i despise the aero kit, so i definatly think the cupra looks better, but its still almost identical to an FR. love the Cupra wheels though!

look under the bonnet

Dealers are supposed to be getting demo's around February time. But with any luck we might get a closer look at one before then.
Hello Mark,

My Cupra will arrive in het course of December. At that time i will take some
pictures of what's under the bonnet and post them here.

Cheers,

Eric

I have the feeling its a revised K03, it seems like too low a power figure for it to be running a K04. Its like haveing the old 225 running as a 190. Its going to be the same with the 30th Anniversary GTi, thats set to be around 230.

At the end of the day it comes down to how it drives in the real world and how individuals find it, i wont take the review too much to heart.

I think there will be ample tuning possibilities for it, but it may require at least a k04 being slapped on there.

Seen and read...didnt help though
March yes but surely we would able to preorder?

Oh well I'm sure it will all become apparent when the catalogue drops tthrough me door. Excited now!!! :funk:

Some dealers may take an interim deposit now the final price is known. But until colours and options are released, some may not want to.

Have a word with your local or chosen dealer.

standing infront of the car - absolute back left hand side - you can just make out the turbo ID plate

I have the number of the unit they had for the Super Copa, but didn't get any clear images on the motorshow (though I will recheck)

At the show I was more 'into' getting pics of the engine code etc

Though I'm not convinced it wasn't just a 197bhp engine with the 'right' cover (certainly had never run, but did have all the right dress up parts for intake etc)

Does anyone have an underbonnet shot of the Golf Anni230? might be an easy spot to see the different pipe runs

i am liking the sound of the cupra, sounds like a sensible hot hatch

if i could afford one i would get it, i would not get a ford due to the fact they are too common and the leon is one of the best looking cars out atm imo
