Hi folks

The front passenger door on my LCR is difficult to close. Sometimes it needs a couple of hard slams. It used to close really nicely. It also looks like it is sticking out from the body very slightly.
The car is still under warranty but as the nearest dealer is a long way away, does anyone know if this is something I can fix easily myself?

Thats not to much off a problem mate...I had a problem..the bodyshop returned my car once, and the pin was pushed down..and neither the inside, or outside handle would open the door or raise the pin.

And coz the door was closed, you couldnt get the door panel off to fix it...that was a problem lol.

Hope you sort it soon.

i had similer problem with audi a3 some time ago. The problem that i over come was abit of grease. this is a foam grease that you get iin a bottle. i just sprayed some in the hinges and inside mechanism, had to take the door card of though. played around with the handle to ensure the grease was distrubted.

Has the car been involved in a collision of any sorts?

Thats tell tale signs of a door replacement job

I have had the car from new and it hasn't been in any kind of accident, touch wood. It just seems like the door has moved out of alignment somehow.
I guess its a trek to the dealer then, pity the one I bought it from has gone bust!

Went to the dealer yesterday and very efficient they were too. 'Car services' in Forfar in case anyone is interested.

It took an hour to get there, arrived 10 mins before the appointed time, they took the car immediately, gave me coffee and handed me back the key before I had time to drink it!

All done in less than 10 minutes! Can't help thinking I could have done it myself, had I known what to do! The service was excellent though.
