Window Tints

Hi has anybody got a black ibiza with full tints (excl windscreen) cos I have a damn good deal from a local tinting company £160 all windows £100 B Pillar and i would like to see if anyone has had pictures so i could determin which darkenss i might have. Also this deal is open for anybody whos willing to travell to my area (somerset) to get it done!

Yes the law to date is

Passenger Front window = 70% light transmittion
Drivers Front Window = 70% light transmittion
Windscreen = 75% light transmittion
Rear Drivers = No Limit
Rear Passeenger = No Limit
Rear window = No Limit

the company im having it done by WILL NOT do anything illegal plus u get the benefits of

- Heat Reduction from outside
- Reduced Harmful Radiation up to 90%
- Anti Glare, Polorised
- The film will hold all the glass upon breakage
- Protects fading of material/trims also cracking and drying up of leather
- Privacy
- Stops theiving pikeys nosing inside yur car
- If a speed camera flashes you they cant see the driver (I dont benefit from this as i dont speed)

.....im sure theres more but cant think of any at this moment in time

Believe me ive had my old car broke into and tints are brilliant!!


MOT Wise there is nothing concerning this at the moment as garages cant afford the Light Transmittion Detector - confirmed this!

Don't count me on this as I'm nott 100% sure.. but I believe the backs are Dark and the fronts are medium/light....

Ive got a black ibiza with tints all around... not to sure on percentages, but the back and rear windows are medium and fronts are light...i think it looks rather dashing....PM your email and will email them to you tonight...i cant attached pics as yet...dont let the tempory tire put you off the look!

yea thats what my mate had done on his RAV4

i dont wanna go really dark on the back and light at the front cos then it will look like a clio van or summink gay like that

i have 20% of limo all round my car , but i have been pulled over by the fraffic cops wo have the vosa officers and light meters waitin round the corner 5 times now and been made to remove the tint from the fromt windows , They keep tellin me that u are not aloud any tint wat so ever on the drivers and pasenger window , so they went mental wen they saw the front screen had 20%tint on it , lol . but hey ho 50 squid a time gets the tint back on lol

yes you can mate have a look at the www.dvla.gov.uk there isnt any law saying u cant. Ive been pulled by the pigs for having 80% dark on the front they said u can have 30% dark on the front and windows are 20% as standard so they say no point!

lol really im guessign it depends who pulls you over. Some coppers are older and may not realise the law on tints. The tinting law was introducted in 2003. But you can always protest it if yur cars legal

i was made to remove my tints from the front windows as they are illegal was told the only tints that you were allowed was factory tint and that was already in the glass and is marked with e2 or e5 in a circle in the lower corner of the glass, they were only there as i bought the car with them on was a nightmare to reverse in the dark i had limo black all around. loads of places will do it but they tell you if police stop you tell them you fitted it yourself as they will get in trouble for illegaly tinting front windows!!!!

Ive had my cupra for 4years now & only had my tints taken off once (Wrong place Wrong time) & the next day i had them put back on lol. To be honest tints that meet the legal requirement make your car look like its not tinted so what the point
