I am wanting to put a 20v turbo engine in my ibiza and would like to know if there is an easy way of putting big brakes on the car i.e. using stuff from other models or is it easier to just buy a big brake kit? i want to run 16" wheels on it

regards adam

Sorry to hijack this thread. But what would I need If I were to upgrade my 280mm discs to the Cupra R ones? Just the 305mm Discs, pads, Calipers, braided hoses and the little addapter for the hoses? Also has anyone tried running them with the standard 16" GTI wheels (the ones in my sig)

Many thanks in advance

only way you'll get them behind the 16v rims is with spacers

i used 15mm spacers as a temp measure while waiting for my new wheels, they only just cleared with them (i was only moving the car up and down the drive tho so couldn't tell you what it would drive like)

Hmmm, maybe I'll just stick with my 280mm's. Because at the moment cant afford to shell out £800 for a set of Compo Mo's

Seems that I'll probably just have to upgrade the standard brakes than. But finding a set of 280mm 4 stud discs is harder than it seems. Especially because I'm trying to get hold of some of the ATE Powerdiscs :)

how about some brembo disks grooved like ATE Powerdisks...

Are those the Brembo MAX ? I was looking at them earlier, so I think I'll be getting those. Are you selling them by any chance? If so can you PM me the details ;)

Will also have to get myself some new pads to compliment the discs, so does anyone know which of these two are better ? Pagid FR (fast road) Or the Ferodo ds2500 (I think thats what they are called)

Cheers

MGTF AP Racing Brakes

Hello all,

i have just bought a pair of the AP Racing (MG BRANDED) 4Pot calipers that are floating around ebay at the moment, i am hoping to buy a multi fit 312mm Audi 225BHP disc, machine a caliper adapter bracket and brace myself for some serious stopping power - no idea if 312mm discs will squeeze under the standard white cupra 16inch rims, maye have to turn them down. i will do two sets of brakets when i have fitted mine. I will keep an install diary.

Anyone else used these calipers? I cant decide whether to use radial or post type mounts as radial mounting will require some heavy modification to the caliper!

Update - i have machined the carriers off the caliper - SCARY and now i am having custom alloy bells made to fit the TT discs (which have been parted off!) Hopefully fitting them this week, just got to mill the surfaces onto my bracket!
