noise on accelerating

i have recently noticed just after coming back from silverstone the other week that when i am accelerating i am hearing a high pitched whistling noise / sucking noise which sounds like its coming from the right handside of the engine bay. Anybody got any ideas.

Another thing is when i lock the car with the key my door pin squeaks when it shoots down. is that the mechanism that need a bit of wd40 sprayed down there.

To help diagnose the problem, have you experienced a loss in power and/or is there more black smoke from the exhaust when accellerating?

Is the whistling in tune with your speed or engine rpm or how much your pressing your right foot down?

yeah, im with Ed here, thinking it could be a boost pipe whcih is split or coming off....

it sounds like it gets louder when the engine revs pick up. i have noticed quite a bit more smoke under hard accleration now and again but not all the time. i thought that was down to me using esso diesel which i havent used before

been to my local monthly meet and a few of us had a look and i had one end of my boost pipe the bottom end just below the head lights which has come loose cause its leaking some oily residue. so a new clip is in order
