Hi,

I've heard before that its possible to fit a dump valve to my Cupra Tdi... Can anyone comfirm this for me please ?
If it is possible, is it worth it ? and what dump valve would I need ?

Thanks

look at forgemotorsports site , they do a kit , it makes a ptssch noise but serves no purpose at heart , doesnt keep the turbo spinning etc

ive the forge kit in my beeza, as stoney says makes absoloutely no performance gains, but gives a nice wee ptssssh noise when i lift off at high boost, sound well i think when changing gear.

I "had" one...

But took it off cuz it was annoying and tbh losing boost imo, dumping 25psi every gear change!

Also it would go off constantly if i let off the gas at say 3k revs and let the revs come down naturally but leave it in gear... so a constant 10 sec dump valve noise!!!!

was yours the forge one, mines tapped into the ecu and has a wee control box, ive never experienced this 10sec dump noise with mine, its always like a 1 sec ptsssh, everytime. ive never experienced any loss of boost, ive had my car on the rollers and it gives a nice even curve (182bhp) and on vag com my motor is holding a good 1.6bar and not taking any big massive drops on gear changes. i never noticed any difference after the dv was fitted than before.

mine was a derv doctor one but same principle...

When i acclerated up to say 3k revs in 4th[any gear really] then left it in gear but let the revs drop naturally, the dump valve would go off untill the revs had dropped below 2krevs [turbo stopped spinning]

so going down hill in a gear leaving the revs at 3k but no foot on the accelerator - constant dumping!

So do you think it may have reduced performance slightly?

Just wondering as my mate is getting a derv doctor one for his Passat PD130.

Yup...

Well my boost gauge used to drop to - psi everytime i changed gear...

But with the dump valve off the gauge only dropped slightly, not to - psi...

please please dont do it. please.

Well I had a look at Forge's website.... I though the diesel dumper would be around the 100notes mark the same as a normal dump valve......
Boy was I wrong !! :-o
£233.82 for the Diesel Dump Valve kit and a further £116.32 for the Diesel Dump Valve fitting Kit !!!

Thats a lot of notes just for a little pssshhh noise

Anyway the cost along with messages from sssstew etc have made me decide not to bother with a dumper !

I'll put my money towards a Revo upgrade instead

Cheers
