Climate control model question

Hi,

I'm a newbie from Portugal and I would like to ask a question about Climate control.

My model has the Climate control (red display)... not the 3 knobs. However I find the 3 cylinder engine to weak to bear the A/C. Since I don't see any A/C sign, what's this Climate Control all about? Is it normal air but with automatic flow control? And is there a A/C version? As I said... 1.2 3 cylinder seems weak.

Also... it has the AUTO mode and ECON mode. What's the difference (in consumption) considering there's no A/C.

Thanks a lot,

Hi

The climate control DOES include A/C.

Normal operation on AUTO will switch the A/C pump on if its needed.

When in ECON mode, the A/C is turned off and in certain situations recirculated air will be used too.

Hope this helps ;)

the air con is like yoyur normal heater hot cold bit in between and you have to manually adjust it climate controll will change fan speed to keep the inside of the car the same temp!

Well, I say that because when I put the temperature to the minimum of 18º and considering outside is around 20º, the cold blow is not that cold... looks like a bit cold. I also have a Picasso and when I turn to 18º with 20º outside it does blow cold!
Although the display is digital it doesn't have the A/C sign on it, so...

Is this normal in Seat Ibizas? I mean... does the A/C only function when temperatures are more extreme? Like 30º outside and want 18º inside... or does it take time to action?

Or my model doesn't have the A/C unit built-in. Can I check that somehow?

Thanks for your time...

if you have a little buton with ac on you hace it only the refference ibiza had no air con and dont think reference was out in 2003 was an s same as what i had so should have air con you have to turn it on though ans will illuminate yellow on the button when switched on

What I read and I understand is that some things vary according to model, version and country. So I think that "they" maybe considered Portugal as mild temperature country thus not needing the A/C... just Air recirculation system.

What do you reckon?

If you put it on econ and turn the inside temp right down, then turn econ OFF you should hear/feel the aircon compressor cutting in. Also i'd guess under the bonnet there would be an aircon fluid warning label. Maybe yours needs regassing?

Strange... great looking car your FR... much like retired Schumacher's Ferrari ;)
Well I guess I just have the "normal air" then. That's OK. Temperature where I live goes from -2,-3 to 35/37 top!

I'll try that J500ANT... could need regassing, but then... I can not have A/C if there's no symbol for that, right?

I know there's the 3 knob and the digital display. In the digital display maybe there are 2 versions... one with A/C, another without it.

the buttons should be under the middle of the three knobs, ones is the ac button saying A/C on it the other is an arrow for the recirculation if you dont have these there you wont have ac

The Stylance model I drove last week didnt have an a/c button or symbol just the climate control screen. Pressing the Econ button just turns the a/c off, and gives you better fuel economy too!

I do have the arrow one... to the right of the display. In the middle the air flow entries (face, legs...) and the left side has the symbol for the windscreen. Nothing else.

I think I'll just drive it to the service and ask some expert about that, just to be sure. Because if I have automatic A/C I want to go ECON mode...
I won't be needing A/C until May next year...

Just to say that you guys have been great! Almost real-time conversation. This site looks very promising... I'll be around more often, altough I'm a bit apart.

Thanks a lot for your time...
