I'm tempted to get a 3/4 sized plate, but after a quick measure up it looks like some of the number plate holder (the bit the plate screws to) on the LCR front bumper will still show. Does anybody have any pictures of this, just so I can see how much is on show?

Fancyplates.com do custom sizes, so if any part of the number plate holder is on show, I'll work out what size I need to cover it all and order that size :)
I ordered a tiny number plate for my Celica from Fancyplates.com and it turned out superb :)

I had a standard sized plate and then cut it down with a hacksaw to the size that suits on my Elise. Therefore legal font but slightly illegal space around the edge but the old bill don't seem to bother about this (they did give me a fine for the spacing though E11SE H)

Check the DVLA website for what the legal requirement is for the amount of plate around the edge of the letters.

NB fancy plates are cheap for standard sized plates also

I have this plate on the front of my LCR, I love the look of it, I think it makes the front look a bit (For want of a better word) beefier.

I'm not sure of the legality mind:whistle: But touch wood, been ok round Birm city center so far..

Mucus, this may sound like a very odd question, but can you please tell me how high the black part is underneath your number plate? I'm referring to the part that the plate screws / sticks to, as there is a strip under the plate still showing. Could you tell me how high this is? :)

No problem, I'll measure it up tomorrow for you.

You know, I'd never noticed the showing piece of plastic under the plate before, I guess because it's black. I only noticed when adding that pic in my prev post?

The measurements on mine are..

393mm long or about 15.5 inches
87mm high or just under 3.5 inches

The plastic showing beneath the number plate is 22mm or just under 1 inch.

Mucus, you're a star, cheers :)

Scott, do you have any more pics of yours? I've got an Ovni LCR too and I'm considering having a plate made that is the exact same size as the plate holder :)

This one's fully legal and from Halfords (they are very discreate with the markings required by law)
It's just slightly larger than the bit it mounts onto.

I also have a 5-digit plate.

Like otheres here, I just went for the normal plate from Halfords, and then cut the ends off with a hacksaw.

As long as there is a gap between the edge of the letters and the edge of the plate of at least 11mm, you are legal.

Mine passed an MOT with them on, and I have never been stopped by the police for them.....
