Had my LCR about 2 weeks now....got a rattle from the rear that sounds like it could be rear seat related but Im wondering about the spare wheel and plastics/tools associated with it?

So if you've had a rattle and fixed it...do share:)

Plenty of Info in the search.

The most annoying rattle for me, was the passenger side interior light, the plastic lense didnt sit flush and was rattling like a good un. A quick fix sorted it out.

I've got a Leon Cupra with one hell of a rattle from the boot.

I've had a search on here and some suggestions are:

Adjusting the rubber stop on the back seats
Wrapping the catch on the back seats with tape
Some have found that theres some sort of fault with the rear suspension particularly with the R iirc
Also like you mentioned check that all the trims, spare wheel and tools in the boot are where they should be.

I've tried all these and still have the bloody rattle, mine sounds like its inside the boot lid, can i get the trim off....NO <---- Any tips appreciated!!

Not alot of help i know, some suggestions all the same.

If you go into Advanced Search, then type rattles, and make it specific to the Leon section, it will filter out , and hopefully give you loads of info.

No worries mate!

Now to hijack the thread, does anyone know how to get that trim off the inside of the boot lid? I've taken the 2 screws out but the bloody thing just wont budge, and if I pull it much harder I think i'm gonna break it!

Matt.

Yes, it feels like that doesn't it... Been discussed so try a search :blahblah:

But, basically, take out the two screws and pull like buggery.

If you're looking for "one hell of a rattle" one of the metal clips has probably fallen off - they do that. Don't bother trying to refit it, it will only fall out again.

I had a rattle in the back (boot/door I thought) - pulled door cards off, seats out - turned out to be suspension. Once greased complete silence. :givein:

When I picked up my car I was going down the road with no stereo on an had a dull thudding sound coming from the back of the car, found out that the full sized spare wasn't tied/screwed down correctly and a microfibre cloth with a hole on the bottom of the wheel well stopped the thudding.

My rattle was coming from the inner boot plastic moulding. This was because it had been removed for some reason before I bought the car and it was not fitted on correctly.

Do a search on boot moulding. i wrote a guide on how to test it for a rattle and how to remove, replace clips properly and refit. Well worth doing...

Matylad - mine is exactly the same.

I originally had rattly rear seats - a bit of pvc tape around the metal clips (or whatever you call them) worked that out. I've emptied the boot, taken the parcel shelf off, and had the seats down to try and remove all rattle sources, but I still have the same rattle as you. Sounds like it's coming from inside the plastic shell yes? Quite a hollow sound. I too want to get that back panel off to have a look. Let me know if you've since had any luck.

Cheers

Done all that too! Still cant shut the damn thing up! The only place it can be now is inside the boot lid. Mine sounds like a metal on metal kinda rattle, you can only hear it on harsher bumps or when u go over lots little bumps and it really gets the car hopping if thats the right word to use.

Its avin it this weekend its driving me insane now!!!! [:@] I'll let you know how i get on.

Matt.

the burbs...
Rattle on steering column, usually fixed by adjusting the column maximum up and then lower slightly. Had the same rattle on my cupra.

The boot trim removal, be careful of the clips when you yank hard tend to not budge and the trim plastic snaps, so be careful how hard you yank on it.

Rattle from the front tweeter area, drivers door... still have not solved it.
