std airbox smoothed with a 3" cold air feed running down to the foglight and a green pannel filter works very very well. Thats what i have and wouldn't have induction kit anywhere near it.

i have the panel filter with it semi smooth inside (get bored really quick). had the 80mm intake mounted low and it sounded ok (without the box modded).

where is everyone mounting there cold air feed?

i was thinking on having it where the smic is, once i get shot of that and buy my fmic.

Well mine is mounted or zip ties under the intake to the SMIC. Which is probably gonna get moved now with the rain. Thinking about taking the fog light out!!!!

you put it in your wing, either feed it through to where the foglight is, OR put it in your wing facing backwards - i think thats where the high pressure point is, very good airflow from either of them, heard facing backwards is better though

For those using the standard airbox with a cold air feed, are you fixing the feed to the box (if so how?) or just pointing it towards the box?

Cheers

I have a Cold Air Feed to STD box using my old 106 cold air feed pipe. I've used some sealant stuff to make sure it don't move as it kept on falling out.

better fixing the feed in the box mate, then its enclosed suction, alot lot better than just pointing it at it,

not too sure how people seal it in though as i didnt do this

also, make sure you smooth the inside of the box

Thats my next thing, Smooth the box, I used a sealent around the intake on the air box, has worked really well. Now i'm seeing boost around 16psi and it hold boost alot longer compared to the pipercross induction kit it was peaking at 15psi and losing it very quickly, at high revs it would be as low as 10psi now it's around 12psi..

I used mole grips, grip the fin in the middle and twist it, this rips most of it off, then tidy up with a dremmel to make it smooth.

 heard it was a right ballache thats why i didnt bother

Your not wrong there mate took me ages and my arms/back was killing me and guess what, it made no difference at all to my car lmao

I mounted the 3'' induction tube straight into the airbox after some cutting and the other end by the intercool pipe work towards the road

the top part is not to bad to do its the bottom half which i found to be a real pain.

but once smoothed and fitted it seems to work really well on my car
i think that the 3" cold air feed has done more than the smoothing has TBH

I have now removed the plastic trumpet in the pis above and it seems to hold a little bit more boost at high revs

where did you run your cold air feed ?

might try removing the plastic trumpet see if that makes it any better

i ran the cold air feed down to the front bumper beside the foglight where there is an opening that the air came into my old SMIC.

but with the air feed anywhere down near the frount bumper should give you a nice cold air.

Just try to avoid any deep floods
