Question about window tinting? Legal?

Question about window tinting? Legal?

I'm looking to get my Leon Cupra windows tinted.... but am not sure if I can tint all 7 windows..... ?

I know you can’t get the windscreen done but are the other ok?

Has any one else got there’s done, like all 7 windows?

the back 5 u can have as dark as u want but the front 2 u can only have 95% or something like that. ive just had mine done 15%back an nothing on the front as it comes with a tint as standard an if they had put anything on there it would have sent it over the limet.
BUT saying that there r people going around with 15-75% on the front 2 just depends on the police in your area.
i know some 1 who had to drive all the way home with there front windows down coz they was to dark an had to take them off at home. the police said to him "if some stops hime again with the fronts that dark the they would do him for it"

No way , you got to be kidding... What a joke that the MOFO Police can say that ... is there a limit on the fronts that is set in stone or is it like you said depends on what plod you get in your area

i think its set in stone but some police is some areas r more relaxed about it an others. thats what the place said where i got mine done said. It looks ok with just the back done anyway i think. i'll see if i can get some pics up of mine soon so u can have alook.

were they as dark as the back windows tints? "the guy who had to drive home with front windows down" ?

vehicle something something law, look it up if someone can finish it off or nip into your local police station... anything like it was when i went in and they had no idea...

told me where to find it and i went to the library... just cant remember what its called

Found out that if you get the front roll downs tinted they have to let 75% light into the car.

The place im getting mine done in Swindon called Auto Asylum

said that he can do a lite smock to the fronts but said "it will not be legal... but not to worry it only the muppets with very dark fronts that get pulled".

Its going in tomorrow and he will show me what the light smoked looks like....
but i think im not going to risk it as Police in Swindon are very hash and also if i had a crash im not giving the insurance any reason to not pay up...

LOL Im not suprise he got pulled over...
Even though the place that are doing mine said they can do a light smoked that is not offensive to the police, it still not legal and not worth the hassle im thinking.


Have also asked about and few of my mate have been pulled in Swindon and Police are now using a device that measures the about of light that come into the car....

I got my tints done but did not go with the front rolldowns as not worth the risk....

Just wondering do i need to contact my insurance to let them know it has been done? Some one said i did at work???

standard windows are already at the maximum tint however you can tint the rear doors and rear screen as dark as you like as long as you have wing mirrors. When my CC'c have gotten over my holiday/wedding I'll be putting security tints across the rears and back screen lightly smoked as this will be enough for me.

I found out that you can get the front roll downs tinted but they have to let 70%light through them... but where I was getting my tints done they could not do the fronts legally, so I went for dark smoked on all back side windows and back screen... Looks good enough with this done and am more than happy without having worry about the police and voiding my insurance

will try and get a pic up this weekend
