Woo hoo, guess what!.... i fitted my sunglasses holder.... but 99% of you can what i am going to say next by reading the title!
Yeah thats rite.... one screw i put in slightly to far and has made a little imprint on the roof, i am not happy at all, + i read all the warnings before hand, i used my original screws... but obviously they are too long:censored: . I was soo annoyed with myself! Cannot believe i was foolish enough to do it.... but anyway... its done now, anyone got any suggestions what i could do to remove this eye-saw. Its not visible for people not knowing its there... but for me..... its like a missing arm. :-o

I will post a picture if people want to see. But.... WARNING... Anyone doing this mod.... cut the screws in half and then use them.

Anyway.... peoples help and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Toxxin got a nipple in his roof doing the same thing

properly funny from a 3rd party point of view.

Not sure if it's something you could undo without pushing it back in & filling / painting

I think he had the mother of all abortions of a chips away job done on it.

Oh, perhaps i should just leave mine that, i cannot believe how stupid i was though. I was scared it would happen, but was stupid and went and did it anyway. Really cannot believe it, normally quite good at DIY, but... obviously not safe with a screwdriver. Would have done less damage with a drill!!!!

You could get a quote from one of the paintless dent removal companies such at Dentmaster or Dentdevils. I have used one before to remove a parking dent from a door on the Jazz and they were brilliant. It might be a bit tricky working under the roof lining but I am sure they could do it. They normally charge per panel, no matter how many dents there are.

I've seen some great dent devils jobs done on cars but can they sort dents which go outwards from the body?

I have a feeling this may be a stupid question as It's the reverse of what I've seen tham do!

You might have a point there. They would be working on the painted surface of the car and there is nothing to lever against, so maybe they couldn't do it.

can't you just center punch the nipple (as m0rk put it) back into the roof so it is then a dent. obviously being very careful,
shouldn't be a problem for dentdevils then if there that good

Yep I did this! I felt like a complete tit when I did it and told this lot, I'm probably the only one that can feel your pain.

I knocked mine back down with an allen key and called Chips Away to fix it.

The filled the dent and did a bad job with the paint the first time, but they returned and made it look invisible. My car was silver though, and this is a bad colour to match. Yours will probably be OK.

The total cost was £105 including filling a scrape down the side of my car and painting all the stone chips. Yours will be half that, I reckon.

I may look into that then, however the lump on the roof seems to have almost gone for some reason, maybe i made it out to be worse than it actually is. Strange i know. But i returned home yesterday to have a look at the roof and actually had problems finding the mark. Wouldn't show up clearly on pictures either.

Well, if you can't see it for looking, then what chance has a dealer got if they're looking at it in a PX situation!

If you can't see it, forget about it! :)
