What do you need to increase Torque limit?

Hello guys,

I want to know if a fricting plate is enough to increase your torque limit, if the friction plate can handle it?

Or do you need a complete kit?

Well you can replace just the drive plate (friction plate) on its own, this will allow a slightly higher torque tollerance, but to really benifit from the uprated drive plate, it is best to also change the pressure plate aswell, thus allowing an even higher torque tollerance, and will also beable to withstand a higher working temperature than the standard clutch kit.

Have a look at the sachs race engineerin pressure plate and either the organic drive plate, or the sintered padle type clutch which can withstand an even higher tollerance than the organic one.

It all depends what you plan to do to your car mate, and how much power / torque its going to be producing.

Spaniels the max torque would be 342, most likely even less. Will a friction plate be enough?

By the way i see you say you have the fastest mk4 diesel, is that ironic or a fact? Numbers?

I hate to say it but Spaniels is right in what he says. Basically there are two kits Helix and Sashs, Helix is abit more expensive but holds more torque but both kits are just as good as each other quality wise.Basically when it come to fitting a clutch its the labour charge not the parts them selfs that cost the money so if/when you fit an uprated clutch you only really want to do it once.Fitting a drive plate and a pressure plate should cost no more in labour then just a drive plate. Any half descent tuning company should be able to get hold of either kit and any garage should be able to fit the kit as its a direct replacement part.

Is that in LBFT or NM of torque? if LBFT then the organic clutch should be ok i should think, will check the maximum on mine shortly.

It allready has a remap + cupra D intake and BMC filter.
I am gonne add a full milltek exhaust with downpipe and a intercooler.
Turbo is for later.

Ah ok then just doing it a bit at a time. Yep i think the clutch should be cool.
