I have a feeling the discs on my Passat have warped, but wonder if it could be a knackered suspension bush or joint.

Symptoms:
1) Braking from high speed - noticeable judder through steering wheel
2) Braking gently to a halt - car feels like it's on oval wheels, feels like my head is nodding backwards and forwards as it comes to a stop !

It had news discs and pads 2 or 3 months ago, it had standard Brembo discs (ie not drilled or grooved) and pads from GSF, think the pads were Jurid...not sure.

But also I have noticed recently that the inner tyres are wearing, I have a feeling one of the many suspension arm bushes may have gone, so wondered if that could be contributing to the juddering/wobbling.

Also get a steering wheel wobble at high speed, guess that's probably due to the almost worn-out tyres being out of balance, but that could be made worse if there was a worn joint/bush somewhere....

yeah youve got it, warped discs will bite at different points around the disc, thus makign it feel like you have oval wheels!

Judder udner hard braking ferom high speed, not low speed is mroe than likely warped discs also.

I had the same as this with my tarox g88's just got them skimmed for £30 or so, no problems now. i suppose it depends how severely warped they are?
