Rear Washer Problem

Hi,

Had my Cupra for about 6 months now on an '02 reg.

The rear washer jet is not working, but can hear the pump going. Has anyone had this problem.

Is it due to a pipe coming loose and if so is it hard to get to?

It's a common fault normally due to cold tempratures popping the pipe off. Its not to difficult to do, try a search of the forum as it has been covered previously.

I did try to do a search for it but without any luck doh...

Is it just a case of removing the plastic on the boot? I believe the rear washer is attached to the rear wiper?

Yes thats it. I'll post the workshop description later.

PS: Whats with the advert signiture? Do you get paid for that?

Great, cheers - searched the net everywhere for any information on it but couldn't find anything. I knew one of you chaps would be able to give us a hand

The signature is just a giveaway site that i'm signed up to so I can get a free 360. You just have to complete a free offer then refer 10 friends to do the same and they ship you out a 360. I've received 3 x 360 consoles from doing them.

Mate the water is going somewhere and its usually going to soak your carpet in the boot. I had this on mine and yes the pipe had broken before the jet and never realised that everytime i operated the rear washer i was giving my boot floor carpet a clean:doh:

I think it was in the area of the left hand side where the pipe runs along.

Just make sure your not doing the same as obviously the water is going somewhere, but where?

Is there just the one reservoir for washer fluid for both front and rear jets?

I've only used it briefly and haven't noticed any water in my boot yet.

I kinda figured when i could hear the pump, knew i had washer fluid full to the top and my rear windscreen wasn't getting wet that its gotta be going somewhere lol...

Open the boot and fire it off, water should pour out of the bottom of the tailgate if its popped off at the end. If it doesn't then it could be the connection on the left hand side in the boot behind the back seat.
