aw tracksport have quoted 400 for convertion and thats with them making the down pipe but then i need a remap does that sound reasonable

Well yes. I want every thing looking good, handling good, stopping good, then splash cash on engine. £400 for a KO4 turbo conversion. Thats nothing!!!!! I thought it's be near £2000. Does that include labour and parts and fabrication of DP???

all you need to supply is turbo and manifold they fabricate downpipe and do the rest obviously that just gets the turbo on and running but then its upto u if u change your intercooler get it remapped and change injectors and so on they can do that aswell but its all an extra cost if you just want to get it on and get the rest done gradually i would say its the best way if u dont want to empty your bank in one go

So will my car run with the turbo, DP, and manifold and nothing else done?? I know it won't run to it's full potential but it would be an improvement to a KO3 with everything else standard apart from my remap????

if you fit all the parts without the correct map you will prob get problems, limp mode etc ...... requested boost will be alot less than actual boost, ie your ecu will request 15psi but it will get 22psi (example) and go into limp because its more than a 5psi difference

regarding the price though, its good considering they are fabricating you a DP too, get the map on you will be looking about about £900 all in, i know iv been quoted 1600quid for a k04 conversion, they were supplying, fitting and mapping all parts though

OK. So how much can i expect to pay for the turbo. £500??? after i posted that i thought i'd need a remap. Well i think thats quite a good price.

But a few people are saying you'd be better off with a KO3s??? Is a KO4 not a step up??? Must be able to see 250bhp with it no problem???

depends on what k04, the k04 001 is basically a k03s
the k04 0023 has different internals altogether (will prob make 290bhp with bigger MAF, TIP, Injectors, 4bar fr etc .....)

yeah but you wont pick up a k04 for the same price a k03s goes for
doubt very much you'd get the car running as good as it was for under a grand
1600quid would cover it but id just go a different route for that money

sorry i sound very negative all the time.. its just its a piss take really, i know for a fact im not going bigger turbo, id only even consider k03s if my current turbo dies and as theres no sign of that happening yet i cant see it

so just under 1600quid you can have ~280bhp..assuming you got the other important bits that people usually do before bigger turbo...fmic, induction kit, turbo back exhaust...would really want some decent brakes too with that so really your looking at about 2500-3000 from start to finish

stage 2 incluedes ported and polished housing and a big bore manni also

as said the exhaust is a BIG must, AM reccomend a 3" DP with this kit although i still think thats a bit overkill

i think they give you a deal on the manni etc when you buy the turbo so it works out only £250 odd quid dearer than the stage 1, i would go with that

ko4 0023 your looking at about 500 i have found one at 447 not sure where to get it remapped once done had a revo trial before but was not that impressed with it

it is cheap if you shop about plenty of people pay a good 4000 or more for these mods if you find the right places you can get big power for good prices

I've bought the Stage 2 AM04 kit, just awaiitng delivery, not just running that though got a whole host of other mods too. If i get 290bhp i'd be very happy, 275-280bhp seems easily achiveable though!!

so what is your mod list if your looking at 290bhp?? as that aint far off ihi??? your gonna need a new clutch wit 290bhp!!!
