Any experience with DEI CryO2?

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a system for my car that helps with cooling - the theory seems good ... I'm just worried about quality and safety issues.

It's called the DEI CryO2, The website says:

The CryO² is a revolutionary new, award wining product designed to reduce the temperature of the air/fuel intake charge thus creating power. Through the science of aerodynamics and cryogenics, Design Engineering has developed a system to harness the cryogenic properties of liquid Co² to lower the air/fuel intake charge by up to 60%.

It seems an easier alternative to installing a FMIC for now, and when I do install an FMIC later it will perform even better.

Im worried about having a pressurised tank of CO2 in my car, though. I know its not a volatile gas but the pressure is - plus I park my car outside in temps of 50 degrees centigrade plus... but that temperature is the same thing that has such a huge impact on performance ...

I'm thinking of getting the intercooler sprayer and intake cooler. Also I might get the heat resistent wrap for the CAI pipe and metal IC pipes so they dont store so much heat...

I recently found a good motorsports parts supplier in Dubai so a long problem I have of shipping parts from US or UK (expensive .. duh!) is practically solved, their prices are OK and they sell a wide range of products I would otherwise have bought online (http://www.mstorque.com)

They also are dealers for Sparco, Speedline, H&R and others ... mmmmmmm :D

how would wiring up and remapping your car be easier than fitting a fmic?
You can run it on a standard map but that will do it more harm than good. a fmic is a non intrusive safe mod that will actually improve your cars running full time, not in short bursts.

nearest REVO dealer is Turkey ... that's the closest remap shop I know of. Plus this does not spray CO2 into the intake, just onto the IC to cool it. The intake cooler has a "bulb" inside the CAI pipe that cools air passing over it.

Only AmD Technik can help me AFAIK, as they have a device called the OneClick that they send, which I download my car's ECU to, send it back to them, then they send me the remap on the device which I use to load onto the car. but its 500 quid and I will have to use courier delivery 4 times. will easily cost 1000 pounds.

I'm getting an independent fuel computer later (MoTeC or TEC3), so a remap will be wasted money.

why not buy or swap for a pre remapped ecu?

why does everyone jump on the remap issue? I have no intention to remap my car. I will install a stand alone fuel management system when I need one.

the problem in Saudi Arabia is heat. i need cooler intakes as the air temperature here is 48 degrees centigrade outside right now, and is around that for most of the day, for 8 months of the year.

I was just asking if anyone has experience with the quality of the product.

There is a guy kicking about, Mark something, that has one of these on a Leon Cupra with an all alloy front mount.

He was very impressed with it, he did originally have the intake cooler thingy as well, but junked it and stayed with just the sprayer.

I remember he quote me some drag strip improvements with it on, but can't remember what they were.

In the added link above Robdon says he got
"By freezing the intercooler and halving the intake temperatures power had increased by 11BHP and 14lbft of torque, excellent results indeed"
with the NOS system which is pretty damn good
